High quality camera perfect for beginners
I bought this camera as a way to get back into my hobby of photography.I wanted a high quality camera without the price tag and although this is a more expensive camera it's worth it's weight in gold. The screen is digital and touch screen. The screen swivels and is perfect for angels you can't quite see without the screen. The auto focus is wonderful perfect for beginners to get that high quality professional looking photos. I use this camera on a daily basis and will continue to do so. I bough just the body as I love the fact that I can build my camera and add different lenses to it.

Great camera
so i am not a pro but i upgraded to this from a t3 rebel. so many more features over the years made it worth it. the older lens work well with this though may not be as fast as getting new lenses. takes great pictures if you know what your doing.

It’s better then my old canon rebel camera
This is my fourth EOS Rebel camera. As expected, this camera works better then the previous models. (Went from a t2i to a t8i). I have been away from photography for 13 years and this has so many new features it is going to take some time to really get back into it. So far great videos and pictures.

Who says you have to have a $2k body for incredible photos?
I absolutely love this body. The picture was shot with an L series 16-35 F4 at 200 ISO. Yeah I know it's not a macro lens. Try telling the camera and lens combo it was not possible. It was what was on the camera at the time. I saw the opportunity and went for it. The Rebel T8i is a dream with the touchscreen. I have shot many incredible shots to date and have only had it a couple weeks. I am going to try my hand at astrophotography and this body this weekend. One of the best bargains in the industry in my opinion. I have a rather unlimited budget at my work I teach film and audio. We have 6ks at the school that cost 4 times this camera. While I would love to personally own a 6k capable? Sure! But I got this for a reason and I am not looking back. The little canon provides everything I want and more.

Very pleased
I stepped up from the Rebel Xsi to this Rebel T8i. The new camera makes me want to go back and retake every picture I ever took. The Digital Lens Optimizer alone significantly improves the performance of my old lenses. They're now taking sharper pictures with less chromatic aberration.

The lens is more important than the body. The t8i is good enough.
Good camera. At least 50mm lens needed. Not the stock lens.

This is my fourth Canon DSLR. No big difference from T5i that is obvious to me.
The pixel specifications are greater than the previous models. There are other minor improvements. I bought this for the minor improvements. There is not a big enough difference in price between this and earlier models to make buying an earlier one compelling, in my opinion. I have been using Canon Rebel DSLRs since 2003, and have always found them satisfactory. (Once you have bought the lenses, which are totally compatible with all models, it makes sense to stick with the product line.)
