Disguise Master Chief Child Full Helmet Standard, Green

This Helmet does the legendary video game character, Halo’s Master Chief, the one and only Spartan 117 justice. This thing was amazing right out of the box. The beautiful hand-painted (dry-brushed) metallic paint on the corners give the illusion that it is really made of metal and the paint is just worn. In reality, this is a firm rubber helmet. It is sturdy enough to hold it’s shape, and soft enough to bend to fit your head. With the exception of the cheek pads, the rest of the foam padding inside hugs your head comfortably. The tiny cheek pads do their best to barely protect you from the sharp edges of the sturdy plasticized rubber of the mouthpiece of the mask. It is entirely possible that you can be injured by these hard edges if the helmet were to be struck with force while wearing it. This is addressed clearly on the rear foam padding with a disclaimer that warns you that this is a toy and is not designed to provide any protection to the wearer. Although, I do wager that it will [probably] protect you from Nerf darts or other foam ammunition. There are ear holes but they are set very far back at the back of the helmet, but your ability to hear is still fairly good and it does not seem to be affected. Communication, on the other hand, is fairly compromised since every time you talk, it is heard very loudly in your ears. Like talking while wearing a bucket over your head, you will probably not be heard very well by others around you. Naturally breathability is also compromised, as it only has 2 small air-holes facing up above the mouth-plate to supply fresh air. Heavy breathing will definitely fog up the visor, so I imagine that this problem will be worse in colder weather (I live in Hawaii, so I don’t know for absolute certainty). At least the bottom of the mask is open and allows air to flow in and out, so suffocation should be impossible. Initially I could not figure out how you can see through the gold visor until I put it on, but apparently you can see through the gold plating like a magic mirror. Very cool! The indention line does blur in certain places, which robs you of some visibility, but this is a minor trade-off for a costume “headpiece” of this caliber. The visual range is actually very good, and this is really saying something since it is coming from a person who owns a Dye i5 paintball mask. The green visor, that is: the brim that projects to shade the eyes is nicely proportioned, but if have you have the time to really look at it, well... it’s crooked. It has a right leaning slant (facing the helmet). In conclusion, for cosplay or “Halo-ween” (pun intended) this is the best possible Halo prop on the market in terms of price and looks. I believe that by itself (like most helmets), donning this without the rest of the costume will make the user seem awkward (the head will look too big). Especially for a child. It is suggested that this be used by larger children or by those smaller ones with a supporting costume that helps create a cute micro-version look. Sure it favors visual appeal over comfort and value over function, but this helmet provides key features like the see-through gold mirrored visor and metallic paint for a sense of realism to fulfill your cosplay needs without emptying your wallet. I’m sold. 5-stars.

This is a pretty awesome helmet for a Halo costume. My son wanted to go as Master Chief so I ordered this helmet and was not disappointed. It's tight for me to put on but once on it's comfortable and doesn't prohibit your field of view. Only thing that could be more awesome would be if it had lights that turned on but I'd say if you are on the fence about this item just order it and you won't be disappointed at all.

I recommend this Kids Halo Master Chief helmet. The material it is made out of is great guality. I shared some pics of the helmet after taking it out of the box. It’s a little big for my 6 year old but I will add some soft foam and it will be just perfect. The only con I have is that there is 2 little air bubbles on the lense of the mask. Like I said though very minor. Great helmet for his Holloween costume and play. It will prob take a good beating. The hemet is all solid semi soft construction unlike the hard plastic 2 piece helmets that fall apart. If your looking for a great Halo helmet for your kid this is the one for only $28. This is not the $50 one with the lights on it just an FYI.

Helmet arrived in great condition and is very nice and well made. I bought this Master Chief Child Helmet for my 5 yr old grandson. I read several of the reviews about the mask that came with the muscle costume and decided to get the helmet. Some reviewers said they preferred the helmet because the mask is open in the back. Since the mask came with the costume, he got both. The helmet turned out to be way too big for him. In fact, several adult family members tried it on and all said it fit them just fine. He loved the costume and actually spent most of Christmas Day wearing it. He preferred the mask to the helmet, although, he spent most of the time without the mask or the helmet on. Also wanted to point out that my grandson has no idea who Master Chief is (neither do I for that matter) but he absolutely loved the muscle costume! My recommendation for a small child (10 yrs or under) go with the mask, the helmet will be too large.

This thing is so rad. Bought for Halloween and it was a major hit with my 10 yr old who I encourage to be positive and “be the good guy” instead of something creepy or disgusting ie severed-head-zombie like he originally wanted to be. Anyhoo, this helmet is making daily/biweekly appearances around our house and it’s February, yes it’s that cool. I was worried I was spending $25 for nothing but between him, his brother and his 3 boy cousins, it gets a ton of use. He is a big kid. He definitely gets mistaken for older than 10 so I was worried about getting him the child size but this helmet fits him great. I tried it on and I kinda have a larger cranium and the helmet fit but was a little snug. It might just have been my claustrophobia though, hard to say

My son is 12, the helmet arrived today and he loves it so much he wanted to sleep in it. I don't mind paying more when something is of quality and it means a lot to my kid. He's always loved helmets, and compared to having a box on his head last year...lol. Obviously no velcro or elastic. The helmet is relatively light weight but looks heavy. The padding inside is thin and offers comfort. I barely fit it on my big head and scraped my nose on the chin of the helmet taking it off, but my son is more coordinated than I am and has a smaller head. He'll play with this for years to come. Good buy. Oh, and seller estimated 10 days for delivery (cutting it close to Halloween) and it was here in 5 days, whew.

Received this today and I have to say; highly impressed with the speed in which I received this and the quality is awesome, however, what is described is not entirely what I received. In the item description it says that it is a full helmet costume. It is NOT a costume, it is ONLY the helmet. Perhaps include in the description that plain and simply states that the item is a full helmet mask ONLY. Thankfully I was able to order a full costume and the helmet will be a wonderful accessory! Granted my son will be made to wear the whole get up for the next couple of years to get my money's worth but he at least will look good!!

Bought for my ten year old son who is SUPER into solder toys and specifically master chief. It fits him great, goes all the way around like a proper helmet (not just a mask). Well made but not super easy to see out of. It isn't to be confused with a safety helmet of any type but is super fun for a child to enjoy. It looks so good, just like he imagined a master chief helmet, and it brought him to tears (tears of joy).

Excellent child’s costume item. Seems robust enough for play (ie Nerf battles). Some slight cosmetic blemishes like the gold visor have a few small bubbles but still very good given the price. Very happy with this. Definitely scaled for a smaller head, I expect it will fit many adults but will be snug or tight coming off.
