FTCE General Knowledge Book + Online (FTCE Teacher Certification Test Prep)

I bought this book SPECIFICALLY for help preparing for the reading section. As another reviewer points out, there are MISTAKES in the book, which is very frustrating. The SOLE TASK of these dingledorfs was to produce a book with good questions. Three "experts" publish a book of questions with MISTAKES in them. Besides the error the other reviewer named, they also often say, "in the first paragraph" or "in the second paragraph" when the question is actually about another paragraph. I hope to Christ that these people are NOT involved with writing the actual State question. I am going to tell all my fellow students to NOT buy this book. And I tell you, dear reader, the same!

Very Disappointing.MULTIPLE ERRORS in the example problems given--both in the online test and the printed book. The errors can cause problems while studying if you don't catch the example given is incorrect. Considering this book is supposed to be a test prep. tool this is a huge issue.It does have some helpful information regarding what to expect in the test, however, the vast number of errors make me doubt the credibility of this book as a source to study for the FTCE.

The Valencia College seminar I attended down here in Orlando, Florida endorsed this book as the correct one to study from. I studied from it religiously from October 2017 to March 2018 when I took the four subtests in one single day. I passed them all, Thank God. I would recommend you all to study patiently from it and pay close attention to every detail, especially in reading comprehension and mathematics. Feel free to ask me any questions in case you need an answer from me.

I've used this same brand of study guide for Colorado's test and I really like that there are practice problems in each chapter and two practice exams in the back. I really do think it makes a difference in helping you prepare for the tests. ud

The math portion in this book is awesome! It really made me go back and remember those little things I would have forgotten if I didn't study.It is the Grammar/Reading portion that was not helpful. The grammar portion in this book is nothing like what you see on the GKT, at least in my personal experience. I believe a good chunk of this book was memorizing larger vocabulary words; I did not have any questions like this. Lastly, the reading portion in this-EASY!! The questions were very easy, and low on the bloom's taxonomy scale. (Example- a lot of "remember" and "understand" type of questions.) Where as on the actual GKT, majority of the questions are going to make you really think outside of the box and you cannot just spot the answer in the text! (Evaluation, also known as create.)

My son passed all put one part of the FTCE on the first try without studying! It took him four times to finally pass the last part. This book was a God send, and in my opinion, the best study guide on the market for the FTCE. This book has study guides and practice tests. It will help - if you use it.

I passed the exam the first time using this book and online help. The online help was great! I knew exactly where my weaknesses were so I could focus on them, instead of wasting time on things I didn't need. Definitely a must if you are taking the General Knowledge Exam!!!

Only 100 pages into the book and I've found 3 errors - notably 2 glaring errors in the math section where the problem or illustration does not match the answer. This book needs better editors.
