The classic Beatles parody The Rutles (The Prefab Four) are a band known for their visual and aural pastiches and parodies of The Beatles. This originally fictional band, created by Eric Idle and Neil Innes for 1970s television programming, became an actual group (while remaining a parody of The Beatles) and toured and recorded, releasing two UK chart hits.

Great Rutles on Blu-Ray!
What can you say about two great films? A parody of The Beatles music and films, this is the ultimate. I was lucky enough to see it for the first broadcast on TV back in the late 70's I think it was. Back then, I thought it was done. Then I started being able to buy the soundtracks and even copies of the movies. Now you can have it all! Do it!

Awesome really funny film if you are a Beatle fan
A very well done spoof of the Beatles. You will love it if you know the Beatles music and history. They really put thought and effort into this, imitating the style of the Fab Four's music and films and assembled an all-star cast including interviews with Mick Jagger and Paul Simon. It was made before John's murder so it doesn't have to decide how to deal with that. Just light hearted satire.

"Ladies And Gentlemen, The Rutles! Let's Give A Big Hand!"
What's there not to love about The Beatles? Well, this isn't the Beatles, it is the Rutles. A mock of the Beatles. Brilliant! Back in the late 1970's I bought the vinyl soundtrack record, and eventually replaced that with the CD version (with extra tracks).... I find the Rutles hysterical. Granted this release is not as good as it could have been, and has been discussed at length in the other comments on Amazon. It was originally shot for TV in the 1970's. But for what it is, it is great to have this on Blu-Ray, even if it is not all that it could have been. Rutles - The Rutles Anthology Blu-Ray/DVD

Funny stuff! And a star-studded cast!
I hadn't seen the movie since the 1970's. I watched it with the boy (who also is a big Beatles fan) and it was great.

FINALLY! A COMEDY CLASSIC GETS ITS DUE.
I remember seeing "The Rutles" on "Saturday Night Live" back in the day, and this classic has always stuck with me. I had it on VHS a long time ago, and now Blu-ray will ensure its immortality on my shelf. The music was hilarious, the guest stars were aplenty, and the classic appearances by George Harrison and the lovely Bianca Jagger were timeless!

Good, but... strange
The obvious advantage here is getting both Rutles films. However, this is a very strange release. There is a DVD disc and a Blu-ray disc. On the DVD disc, you have both films. On the Blu-ray, you have the first film again ! Also, the cover states the original 1978 documentary has been remastered and upscaled to HQ, but the quality is more or less the same compared to my 2001 DVD version of it. And then there's the strange chopping of the image here and there to fit the widescreen format, which is very odd. The things I miss the most, however, are the bonus. Even possessing this now, I won't get rid of my old DVD version because of the extra interviews (Jagger and Simon) and the commentary by Eric Idle. All in all, this release is OK. If you have the old DVD versions of the films, stick with them. If you don't, then you might consider buying this.

微妙.....
まず『All You Need Is Cash/Can't Buy Me Lunch』 [Blu-ray]となっていますがブルーレイには『All You Need Is Cash』とボーナス映像(エリックのコメンタリーとサタディナイト・ライヴでのラトルズのクリップと『Can't Buy Me Lunch』の予告編)しか収録されておらず『Can't Buy Me Lunch』は未収録です。 ちなみに『Can't Buy Me Lunch』は4:3のままです。というわけで旧ライノ版DVDもすてられないという困った作品になっています。唯一の救いはDVD一枚で二つの作品が見れるということくらいです。DVDはリージョン・フリーです。
