G B hand hatchet.
I’ve had this particular hand hatchet for about 15 years and it’s been on many camping and fishing adventures with me. Extremely sharp and just the perfect tool for around the camp and campfire making. I purchased this one for my son in law for Christmas as he’s wanted a Gransfors for a long time. He uses a wood stove fireplace to heat his house and had an old hatchet that he used to make kindling. He could not get over how sharp it was right out of the box. This is a tool that will literally last you a lifetime if you take care of it. Is it worth the price….well I’m sure there are some other hand hatchets out there that will do a similar job but as they say, you get what you pay for and this literally is a lifetime investment if taken care of.

Old World quality you can hold and use today.
Just picking this tiny mini hatchet up and holding it without a single swipe puts some of my bigger, "name brand" full size axes and bush tools to shame. Hand forged. Perfection personified in every way. Balance is perfect. Blade is beyond razor and this tiny almost weightless hand hatchet does jobs that other blades would choke on.I know times are tough but the rule "Buy nice or BUY TWICE!" applies here. Will never use another brand of axe or hatchet ever again. Goodbye Estwing, Goodbye Fiskars. Not that they don't get the job done but they're like the Toyota of the axe world. This thing, as pricey as it is, is a Rolls Royce or Lamborghini. It just feels good in my hand and I want to carry it with me everywhere but doubt the local law enforcement would appreciate my affection for a simple bush hatchet, so away it stays til my next back country trail. If you can afford it--take the plunge. Go and YouTube, take the tour of the factory in Sweden and watch what goes into these axes first and actually watch them make these things. Superbad! They stamp their initials on the axe head as a show of pride in their workmanship. I wish more domestic manufacturers were that good and told that much pride in their work.Worth every penny and I have my next 2 axes picked out for spring and summer to make matchsticks from huge dead tree trunks. You won't be sorry.

Excellent hatchet, but....
My only complaint is the roughness of the handle & fit and finish. The drilled hole was splintered on on side. Easily fixed, and not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. However when you take the price into consideration, its unacceptable for this to pass QC. If you charge top dollar, the attention to detail should be top notch. Functionally, this thing is amazing. Literally shaving sharp. Overall Im glad I got it for my backpacking trips in the white mountains.

Love It!!
Small, fits in the hand hatchet. The fact it is a Gransfors Bruks automatically tells you its hand made, top of the line and will arrive razor sharp. I paid about $100 bucks for the finest made hatchet in the world. Its tough and super sharp. The quality of the steel is the best. Only the best steel can be sharpened to this degree of sharpness. Its about a foot long total, comes with a nice sheath and can be carried in a back pack very easily. Its great for chopping up kindling and would be good to have in the event you needed to defend yourself while out in the wild. If you don't have a firearm, this little hatchet would be far superior over a knife of any size. And should you forget your razor, hey, just be careful cause this baby is sharp. If you are the type to cut your own Christmas Tree, this hatchet would be perfect so long as you're not going too big. I believe this hatchet has the same head as the Small Forest Axe, just a shorter handle. My main reason for this purchase is to take it along on my motorcycle camping trips, it packs super easy.

O-Yea...5 star !
This is my second Gransfors Bruks and is the companion to my GB Swedish Carving Axe. I have owned (and used) my carving axe for over 10 years. It is still like new- razor sharp and ergonomically correct. A joy to hold and use...my secret treasure. It is the 'ONE TOOL' I would grab if I could only have one tool. This GB hand hatchet is also known as 'Kuben'- meaning 'bowler' or a tool used to carve bowls. There is a reason GB axes are legendary, and five star....they are the finest hand forged tools you can own, bar none !From the fit and finish of the hatchet head, the superior quality steel to the short chubby and rough ergonomically correct hard hickory handle....perfection !Mine came from Germany, with 'The Axe Book' printed in German. I don't care...Because I now own two of the finest tools made in the world.Expensive- NO ! These are not expensive if you consider quality, ease of use and the fact that these tools will exist long-long after you are gone. Heck- my Swedish Carving Axe is worth a lot more now than what I paid for it.These really are heirlooms- functional tools for use now, and that someone else in future generations will also love too.Remember- Buy right, and you don't have to buy twice !

I really like this hatchet
I really like this hatchet, I haven't gotten to use it much but if it's as durable as my SFA I will be in love with this little guy. It's light and does exactly what I need it to do, Ideal for small kindling and branches for something similar to a solo stove or something makes this axe perfect for the job. Plus it's absolutely beautiful! Also I was extremely pleased with the grain orientation, I don't think I could've asked for better. very, very nice!EDIT:I got an inexpensive hatchet just to see how it stacks up next to the gransfors, to my surprise the cheap axe has a very nice nylon sheath that fits the gransfors perfectly, it even has a belt loop! It doesn't look as nice but it seems to work well for the gransfors, for only $19.99 and you get another little axe I'd say it's worth it.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015WW6I8I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 <- The inexpensive axe with the sheath that fits the gransfors. For the last picture I sent I have the gransfors sheath on the cheap axe, and the cheap axe's sheath on the gransfors.
