Fantastic Screws
I ordered these screws to better secure our door strike plates to the stud. They screw directly in and grab nicely without pre-drilling. I used about 25 screws into studs without any issues. One user complained about the heads rounding out. My only guess is that he did not use the included, or already owned recommended #2 drill bit. I had no issues to speak of. Beware that the picture of this product is slightly misleading. Actual screws do not have threads all the way up to the head. This is a good thing, you absolutely do not want to have threads all the way to the head. I would definitely recommend.

Just hype no substance
No better than deck screws but much more expensive. 72 screws in a 3", 1lb. box. I wouldn't buy again. The picture is misleading as the screws you will receive look nothing like the picture above.

A square drive bit seems to do a better job than a Phillips bit
They aren't cheap. Cost per box was $7.98 (free shipping with Amazon Prime). 72 screws per box - a little over 11 cents each.Using these to assemble a frame for a large garage cabinet. Screwing into 2x4 and 2x2 SPF lumber - using corded drill (not much speed control). No broken screws (at least so far). Very little bit slippage. A square drive bit seems to do a better job than a Phillips bit.I recently saw these at the local Home Depot for the same price.

Absolute crap
These screws advertise that they bite faster and work better...but they do not. In concept it sure sounds great and the macro photos of the serrated tips really make you think these might just be great screws. Unfortunately, they don't even compare to your off-the-shelf deck or wood screws and God forbid you find yourself having to screw into sheet steel studs...these absolutely WILL NOT penetrate even this very thin gauge galvanized steel. In the end, I gave up and went to Lowe's and got regular deck screws. Total bummer.

I love Spax screws
I love Spax screws! However, this box include a few defective screws. On one of the heads you could see the phillips cross pattern, but it was filled in with the screw material...maybe the zinc? One of the other screws was bent and the threads were not as deep as the others in the box. I believe I had one other screw that was bad, but do not recall the exact issue. That being said...I would and have bought more. I just hope they are defect free

I usually like that combo but on these screws they're heads are ...
these grip well and do well in end grain plywood. the only real gripe for me is the fasteners head. its a combo square drive / Philips. I usually like that combo but on these screws they're heads are very poorly made. both the square and Philips drives spin far to easily. this is very frustrating since I predrilled the holes first. I tried manually tightening them with even more slippage. I went back to deck screws.

Put away the drywall screws for general purpose building!
I will never again use drywall screws for anything other than hanging drywall!! These screws are not the cheapest, I used a couple boxes building a loft bed for our daughter as I wanted something that could be trusted to not snap. I had 0 screws snap and the majority were not pre-drilled holes going into the 2x4s, and 2x6s. Each box comes with a bit to fit the head buried somewhere in the box which comes in handy to not have the bit slip in the heads and tear them up! After I had her bed built I bought a combo kit and a couple more boxes of this length and 3" to have on hand at all times. I wish I had found these years ago. No pre-drilling needed to get a clean countersink without snapping the head off just under the surface like a drywall screw. Before committing to the bed project I drove some through some oak chunks I have around just to test how well they did or didn't work, they didn't countersink as well in the oak, and at the very edge could split some pieces.

worst boxes of screws I've ever gotten
The bit doesn't hold the screw well, experienced a lot of stripping of the bit/screw head. They were very difficult to get to bite into the wood. I had to suffer through 3 one pound boxes of these because I had to get the job done. I'll never buy this brand of screw again.

Buenos tornillos
