Bright bike light
I occasionally ride my bike in the early evening when the traffic has subsided. It has been getting dark early and this LED bike headlamp is very bright and nicely illuminates the area in front of me. It produces a nice wide beam and helped me navigate around potholes and trash in the street. It also adds to my visibility to drivers and pedestrians at night. Six light modes are available: High, Medium, Low, Fast Strobe, Slow Strobe and SOS mode.. The tail cap switch lights up to locate it easier in dim settings and is convenient for thumb use while riding. It's a little annoying that you have to cycle through all the modes to turn it off. This light needs an external battery to power it, which can be bothersome running the wire to a power bank in a pocket or bag. This light has an integrated handlebar fastener with some rubber gripping material which provides a decent grip. The body feels solid and has some weight to it. It is constructed of aluminum alloy and seems sturdy. I think this product would also serve as a great emergency light. If you carry a power bank all the time for your devices, this compact and portable USB spotlight can be used to provide light wherever needed. I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.

using a usb battery backup charger just makes sense!
After having accumulated a number of USB battery backups for my phones and other mobile devices I have been looking for a bike light which would utilize these rather than either come with their own bulky overpriced battery unit or chew through AAA batteries like candy. This light is of the same form factor as others I have used in the past, which makes me trust that bugs in the design have been worked out, the new feature here is that it is powered by USB not an integrated or included pack. The convenience of using mobile charger packs should not be underestimated. As a tech savy individual, i have an abundance of chargers lying around for many different products, it is a huge relief that this bike light does not require its own specific charger. Some installation pointers, the tension knob will slide off the front and free the threaded loop. when installing, dont bother using the knob to loosen the loop all the way out and pull in all the slack. Instead, slide the knob off, wrap the loop around the handlebar as tight as possible and then slip the knob back on, this should minimize the number of turns you need to achieve (as well as minimize the raw fingertips that could result otherwise).ALSO, the light does unclip from the mount, there is a small tab, press this and the light will slide off. Removing the light from the mount will make installation easier and a valuable feature if you lock your bike places you may not trust leaving such an attractive light exposed to theft.Features:3 intensity settings, 2 strobe settings and one SOS signalQuick release of light from mountWell built aluminum casing looks attractive and doubles as an effective heatsink. There are a few areas that this product has room for improvement, I cant honestly call them negatives because i didnt expect the product to have these features, rather, the engineer in me wishes they did.1) this light will not function powered by the inexpensive single 18650 cell chargers i have. I am willing to bet that the circuitry which boosts the voltage from the cell 3.7 to USB 5 volts is not steady enough for this light. Perhaps if either the light or charger had a larger capacitor inline the voltage would be consistent enough.2) I have a few battery chargers which instead of a full size female usb port they have a built in micro usb cord. It would have been a bonus if there were a converter included which would allow the use of these.3) I wish you could hold the button to turn off the light. Instead of cycling through i usually just unplug it.4) Not sure why this bike light has an SOS flash pattern (well actually i do, probably because they used the same LED controller as many flashlights and headlamps)All of these improvement suggestions would increase the cost slightly, realistically, i would rather deal with their minor inconvenience than pay more for the light. (Also keep in mind, they are the product re-purposing existing electronics, which already have their bugs worked out, adding some of my suggestions would require new hardware which would inevitably introduce new bugs)I received this product at a discount for my honest review, but do not allow this to skew your opinion of my review, check out my others if you are uneasy.

Wow this light has some real strong lighting power. ...
Wow this light has some real strong lighting power. With the different light settings it makes for an interesting bike light. When I'm able to try it out on a bike I'm sure it will be a real help in seeing and being seen. Does not have a battery to run it so you have to carry along an external battery. But for the price it is a good buy. Any and all folks riding bikes in the evening dusk or at night should be wanting a light of this caliber.I received this item at a promotional discount in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. I am not affiliated with this company and make absolutely no promises of a good review for receiving the product; my opinions are my own.
