Bogs Men's Forge Steel Toe Waterproof Rubber Work Rain Boots

After tons of research
My husband is a sonic driller. He despises the cold and for his current hitch he's stuck in the cold/wet weather. After hearing countless complaints about how he hated his soggy boots, I looked into getting him muck boots. These are it guys! He's as happy as his dry feet haha. Another one of his co-workers has the same boots and he loves them too. The way these guys go through boots I'm not even looking at longevity. Be nice but let's be real, the abuse their feet deal with, boots just don't last. However, comfort and staying dry for that time being... That's what he's looking for and he's very happy with these boots! I haven't heard any complaints since. Happy spouse, happy house :)

Excellent industrial / oil field mud boot
I encounter a wide variety of weather conditions in the oil field in northern Colorado, including a great deal of mud, slush, and standing pools of assorted fluids. I am also required to wear steel-toed boots at all times. I purchased a set of Bogs Rancher steel-toes at the recommendation of a co-worker and I am very glad that I did.I have found the Bogs to be the ideal boot for working in wet conditions. They are very comfortable, particularly for a full rubber boot and they give me the peace of mind that, on a 12-15 hour shift in terrible weather conditions, at least my feet are going to stay dry. On some of the locations I work on, the grading is often hit and miss, and it is common to step into what looks like a shallow puddle of water that is actually a mud hole around a foot deep. With my Bogs on, I have no worries.A couple of things to note... These boots are not insulated, so for deep winter conditions, a set of Baffins are going to be a lot more suitable. These boots are full rubber with a neoprene upper, so they do not breathe and will be a bit sweaty in warmer weather. I would much rather deal with the sweat than I would with waterlogged boots in have wet conditions, though. These boots grip well on all surfaces, and despite all of the chemicals and product that I encounter, the build quality remains very robust. The neoprene upper is not as durable, and I cut one towards the top cuff shortly after buying them, but I think that the tradeoff in terms of comfort is worth having the neoprene on top instead of solid rubber all the way up.If you find yourself walking around in water, mud, and chemicals and want to keep your feet dry, Bogs are an excellent option.

Extreme comfort
This is the second time we've bought this type of boot it's a wonderful boot amazingly comfortable we work ours a little bit hard I'm going to hold part of my review to later because the last pair the seams busted loose about after about 6 months where they're glued from the rubber part to the fabric part. They are so comfortable I'm hoping that was just a fluke but we'll find out.

Terrible boot. The sole was as pliable and as soft and tissue paper.
Now I’ve had Bogs workman comp toe before and loved them but I tried these this year for work (union carpenter) and they were the worst boot I have ever tried on and I even wonder if this is a factory mistake or defect. The bottom soles were so soft I could feel every pebble pushing throw and they were insane Ely painful to wear. Working outdoors in commercial construction is in rough terrain all day climbing wall forms, in and out of mud ditches and climbing all over rebar. I need a good sturdy, safe, yet comfortable. This was neither because of the soles. You can push with one finger and cave in the bottom of the sole to the inner boot! Absolutely crazy my Nike flip flops have way more support and protection! And for them to be steel toe blows my mind. Protect the toes but don’t worry about the bottom of the boot keep it thin soft rubber and no mid sole or anything between. Also my deliver was late and by time I used them for work and found out it was a day past the return date and Amazon isn’t helping me to return or right the issue so now I’m going to try to go to Bogs directly and see if they will help. Do not waste your money. Spend a few more and get Dryshod, Muck, Thorogoods or anything else really.

Year of owning; completely destroyed outside
I ordered these in Feb of 2019. It’s December now, so nearly a year of owning. I do a LOT of walking in my job! 10 hours days, usually 6-7 days a week. I work at a chicken factory, so my boots stay soaked with PAA chemicals. Looking back, I probably should have kept them oiled or something but this was my first pair and didn’t know how they would react to the environment, but it seems to have really dried out the material. These boots keep my feet warm in the 30-40 degree factory. My feet have NEVER been cold at work with these on. My complaints are with them being so heavy, it makes walking up and down stairs a burden, and then of course the outside splitting open. I’d buy them again, but they are uncomfortably heavy.

UPDATED REVIEW-Oilfield guys BEWARE!
REVIEW UPDATE!!! After a year and a half of wearing these in oilfield, the original pair I bought (in October 2018) my husband wore out (developed a tear and started to leak) so I ordered another pair (April 10, 2021). He loved these boots and they originally worked great-he works in Oilfield so getting a year and a half out of boots that are used and abused 2-5 weeks, 16 hours a day is pretty damned good if you ask me. So I ordered another pair and he went off to work. Here it is June 2021, not 2 months later and they’re leaking already. He’s doing the same work, same hours, so that’s not the problem. Idk if it’s a factory defect or what, but the outside seam appears to have come apart and then ripped and now he’s got wet feet. Very disappointed. We will not be buying again. Also, he was off for 3 weeks while we went out of town, so the boots only have 4 weeks worth of work on them. Return time has lapsed so we’re out $150. Shame. I have 2 stars because the original ones were great, but this new batch seems to really suck.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Bought these boots for my guy-OILFIELD, BABY! He fracks out in W TX and these boots have been awesome for him. He has a high arch and I was worried I would have to buy insoles for these to keep his feet comfortable. Pleasantly surprised-they fit straight outta the box and after a year, they’re still going strong. He wore the soles down on his company-issue Redwings in like 12 minutes and these boots are still doing their thing. Awesome purchase and when these are trashed, I’ll buy him another pair. Highly recommended!

They sent the wrong size!!!
I bought a 15 because reviews stated they fit smaller, my boyfriend got the boots and felt they were to big, so I sent to exchange them for a 14, now to look at the inside sizing label in the inner part of the boot, and see these boots were sent in a 16, therefor exchanging for a 14 they will now be too small, I’m annoyed at the time consuming frustration of this, as he needs them for work. They are a GREAT quality boot but this is annoying and I’m not pleased

Excellent purchase
These boots are exactly what my husband needed for his work. Durable, warm but able to be worn all year, waterproof, great tread and sole and fabulous to get all of this AND have steel toe and shank. We will definitely buy again
