Don't use with Convection Oven Fan on!
I was very pleased with the heavy gauge of stainless steel and rolled rim when I received this pan and rack. I used it to bake some bacon at 375 with the convection oven fan on. It popped and warped badly by 300 degrees. After the bacon was cooked and the pan removed from the heat, it went back to normal shape. I was very disappointed and planned to return it. Fortunately, I read some of the questions and the Seller's answers that described how an unevenly heating oven may cause it to warp and in another oven that heats more evenly it most likely would not warp. I thought about the convection fan and realized that I needed to try baking with the pan WITHOUT the convection fan. So I placed the pan in the oven and it was totally fine all the way to 450 both with and without a silicone baking sheet!! I don't need to cook over 450 with it, so that is as far as I got. LESSON: DO NOT USE CONVECTION FAN SETTING. Let the oven heat naturally and evenly. I am happily keeping the pan and rack!

High quality pans
I purchased these because I wanted a little tray for my toaster, since I keep it in the pantry but move it to the counter when needed. I hope to keep crumbs from collecting on the pantry shelf. I chose these because I checked the sizing of an aluminum pan I use to bake in my countertop toaster/convection oven. So I was shocked at how heavy the box was, until I remembered I ordered stainless steel! These are high quality, thick heavy pans, carefully packaged in a special box. I notice the lip is just a hair more shallow than my aluminum pan, but that won't matter for most baking, although I may use the other as a tray for another appliance! I would expect to pay much more for these in a department store.

Hard to find heavy weight stainless steel baking sheets.
WOW!Great price for 2 heavy duty stainless steel baking sheets. Fit perfectly in my toaster oven for French Fries, Reheating items, etc. And of course perfect for baking cookies! :)

Great Quality - Increased Cooking Times - Doubles as self-defense weapon
This is some serious "Heavy Metal". I knew it would be a thicker gage than standard sheets but was very surprised at the actual heft of these. I could probably deflect a bullet and beat an armed intruder to death with these. Very good quality. One thing I did notice though after cooking with them several days was that I needed to increase my cooking times since it must take longer to heat up when compared to standard gage cooking sheets.

A lot of pluses, but a minus too.
I like these well enough I've bought several. They are sturdy. They are cleanable, even with the worst baked on messes. Scrub nicely with a scouring pad to a clean shine. Good size for lots of uses. They don't warp when put in the oven. But, they are stiffened with a non-stainless steel rod. It works great to make them strong, but it traps water and rusts.

Good but not perfect
This is a nice heavy stainless steel baking sheet. Looks good and easy to clean too. But their claim that it won’t warp is total BS. Garlic bread at 425* for 8 minutes and I could hear it warp a room away. Not the worst, but definitely not warp free. Still above average for stainless steel baking sheets.

Good buy Never warped
I have this baking sheet for a month and mine never warped. I use it to bake at 425°F and still never warped. I'm not sure if it's because my is electric, but still I like it.

GOOD AS ANY and BETTER THAN MOST ...
After reading the negative reviews and claims of warpage at varying temperatures, I must admit I was apprehensive about buying a Checkered Chef baking sheet or any other brand for that matter as I’ve not seen any other brand out there without a few claims of warpage. But what can most people do other than roll the dice if they want a new pan? Not to worry. As long as the degree of warpage does not render the pan unusable, then use it with confidence!! …. especially one as rigid, thick and nice looking as Checkered Chef’s. Having said all that, I have enough understanding of metallurgy and manufacturing to know why I think some of the Checkered Chef’s baking sheets warp and others do not and also the same with other brands as well. Read on.Of course cookware made of too thin material can warp at higher heat as well as cookware that is exposed to too rapid a temperature change and also cookware made of softer metal that just can’t take it as compared to those made of carbon steel or stainless steel. However, it is my opinion that during the manufacturing process, a certain amount of internal stress occurs in varying amounts in the metal of some of the Checkered Chef baking sheets and also other brands due to manufacturing problems with their method. The amount of stress varies from one pan to the next but some of them have almost no internal stress or close to it. Even though each pan is made straight, flat and correct with the folded rim around it, uniform and straight and all looks great, the internal stress is applying a tension on the metal in various areas. It’s like an invisible force pulling on the metal even though the metal stays straight and doesn’t move. When the metal gets heated to a high enough temperature, the stress is relieved and the tension is removed and the metal reacts by warping or bending in those areas. Obviously, the degree of warpage depends on the amount of stress and the temperature sufficient to relieve it. Apparently, some have so much stress they continue to warp with repeat heat cycles. If all the stress can be removed, the warping should be over at whatever amount it ended up. And last but not least, the ones with no or almost no internal stress when they were made should not warp when heated! Those are the ones that nobody complains about and they are obviously in the majority as indicated by the huge preponderance of 5 star reviews. The steel theoretically should be stress relieved before and after the manufacturing process. It is quite likely the Chinese manufacturers leave that step out and just live with warp complaints. It would be much cheaper at the bottom line. But as mentioned above, as long as the degree of warpage does not render the pan unusable, then use it with complete confidence!! And also understand that the majority of them are not going to warp. I am happy to report that the one I bought did not warp one bit!! I tested it by heating it to a temperature of 515 degrees F and checked it with an infrared thermometer.

Disappointing. Not like the half sheets
Purchased this qtr sheet because we absolutely love the half sheets we purchased from the checkered chef. As you can see from the photos top and bottom the materials are clearly different. We have cooked with the half sheet several times on the bbq, smoker and the oven with the half sheet. We cooked last night with the qtr sheet and it is "yellowed" and stained. It will not clean up and feel like I will need to get the serious scotchbrite out to get rid of the discoloration and staining. Very disappointed.

Great quality and now a better value.
I bought these back in February, for a particular recipe that demanded stainless steel baking sheets that would be preheated under a broiler. Following the recipe, the seasoned 12/14 shrimp seared and cooked perfectly. The pan warped a bit from the heat but returned to the original shape when it cooled. There was some very light discolouration, even after internet recommended cleaning methods, but it was very subtle and required moving the pan in the light to notice. The racks that come with them fit perfectly and are also well made. One more feature is the higher than normal rim, which is a definite plus when moving a pan with scalding hot cooking juices sloshing around.Pro Tip-avoid 3rd degree burns whenever you can. They sting like the dickens. So no bare hands or extreme sloshing when they're at oven temperatures. We don't use them day to day, that's what cheap aluminum ones are for, but other than the price, I couldn’t be happier. A really great set of heavy-duty, well made, stainless steel baking sheets.

Nicely surprise for the quality of this set
The first time you pick it up, you know that this is a good quality product. Good finishing and is made of heavy gauge of stainless steel, definitely not those kind of cheapie tin can. Yes, this set is relatively more expansive but I think the workmanship and quality of this set demands that kind of price. Will buy this again if I need more.

It does get bend
It does get bend in my oven at 400 degree when I cook chicken twice now. I hear a loud pop when it happens. It doesn't get bend so bad that the juice and oil spill out, but I still have to be careful when I take them out of the oven. It reshape once it cools down lightly. They are HEAVIER than normal tray, so beware. The weight is fine for me but if I have known they would bend anyway I would have purchased thinner tray. It would make putting them down into the sink easier to clean. The trays are easy to wipe down and clean. They are not sprayed on so it's fine even if the rack scratch the pans.

Fit for purpose
This product is double skin it is designed that way. The double skin reduces the risk warping.I do allow them to cool naturally. Have not plunged them into cold water. Although I suspect it may be ok based on design. I try one day.
