Infrared illuminators are designed for covert surveillance without any light. Please make sure your camera is able to work with 850nm infrared light before use. Infrared Illuminator IR PLATE 120/10 has wavelength 850nm. The beam light of illuminator is INVISIBLE to naked eyes but gives a red glow of the LEDs. Distance is marked for regular camera with 2Mp sensor with “Slow Shutter” mode ON and digital image enhancement modes so-called DSS AGC, DWDR, DNR, 3DNR etc. enable. Please be noted in this case you may get bright and contrast static image, but moving object might get some blur. So if it required to decrease image blur please disable these features in camera menu. With “Slow Shutter” mode OFF and digital image enhancement modes disable distance for camera with 2MP sensor is 10ft. Infrared illuminators do not harm people and pets, but you should not look directly at a switched on light for a long time to avoid unpleasant sensations in your eyes. Infrared Illuminator IR PLATE 120/10 has a cable length of 0.5 feet, and it's enough to connect Illuminator to a power supply. We recommend to use Microlight PSU-25 with excellent IP67 ingress protection suitable for outdoor installations. You can use any power source with a 12V DC not less 5.1W power output. Specification: Distance–up to 30ft, Beam Angle–120deg, Power consumption–5.1W, Supply voltage–12V DC, Weight–4.8oz, Package content: Illuminator–1pcs, Instruction manual–1pcs. This seems to repurpossed from something specific and sold as a generic illuminator
It's a nice light, but it was clearly designed and manufactured as a sub assembly for a specific item, perhaps for a spy cam Exit sign as illustrated in the spec sheet. I decided to try it because i was looking for something with a slim profile and wanted bare wire leads as i was planning to tie it into my landscape light transformer, so its only on at night when my landscape lights are on outside.I am using this inside to light up a door that's 13' away and the brightness and spread are very nice in my application, but i also think a less expensive option whould have been fine in my application. Also this has no photocell, so if it's plugged in it's on. Not an issue for me as I'm powering it with a transformer on a timer but something to keep in mindPROS: it seems well made and the light is evenly disperesed with no hot spots. It is definetly low profile as its probably somewhere around 3/8" thick. As for heat dispertion, it is barely warm after a couple hours of being onCONS: It's rigid and made of glass, it mounts by putting screws though two holes in it, which i imagine if you overtightened would destroy the unit. There is no mounting bracket, it mounts flat with no adjustment. There is no photocell. If it's powered it's on. there are three LED's that are visible from pretty much any angle if the unit is powered on. With most of the 850nm lights I'm familiar with you have to be pretty much looking dead on to notice the red, but with this , perhaps because of the slim nature you can pretty much see it from all angles. something to keep in mind if that matters.another thing worth mentioning is there is no power connector, just a red and black wire with bare leads. this was a PRO for me, may be a CON for others.I'll conclude this review by saying I'm sure this light could be a great deal for someone with a very specific application. It puts out a nice quality even IR illumination at 13' . It even has a cut out in the glass for a hidden camera which i assume could be a great project for the right person, but if you are looking for general purpose IR illumination and think you might want mounting/adjustment flexabilty there are plenty of options for considerably less dough

Good light but only for 8 to 10 feet.
This light is well made and a solid design. For its size it puts out a good amount of IR light. Unfortunately it is no where near 30 ft. The specification sheet that came with the light lists it at 8 to 10 feet which is about right. It is a good light and I will find a use for it but it is inadequate for what I purchased it for.
