Highly recommend this hilariously honest book
I absolutely LOVED this book! I laughed so hard at times I cried! Refreshingly honest and hilariously true: our 20s are a cluster-fuck! Highly recommend it to all women who've ever had a "wrong knickers" experience of their own, LOL!

I found The Wrong Knickers hilarious from beginning to end. Loved every word. Bryony Gordon describes her chaotic life with great honesty and humour, and the ending is wonderful !

Funny, cringe-worthy and rather sad
The Wrong Knickers is fabulously funny, cunningly cringeworthy and surprisingly sad. A Bridget Jones for the new generation, Bryony Gordon recounts her life as a single twenty-something in all its embarrassing glory. I laughed out loud and spat out my tea in places, shook my head in disbelief in others, but I found it hard to put down.

A copy of Bridget Jones
I've previously read most of Bryony's later work (Mad Girl, Glorious Rock Bottom and No Such Thing as Normal) but I had put off reading this book because Bryony herself admits that there were many things that she didn't write about in this book that were going on at the time such as her struggles with her mental health. The Bryony in the later books and on her social media seems to be a lot more well-rounded, happier and in general a more humble, appreciative person. I wanted to acknowledge this at the beginning of my review because I feel Bryony then and Bryony now are two very different people and from reading her other books she is a credit to herself. However, I struggled with this book. Firstly I don't think it was for me, It really is a real-life Bridget Jones copy and I found the constant desperation for a boyfriend bewildering. It is also very middle class and at times there were a few references which felt unpalatable to me, for example a comment about till workers at Sainsburys felt sneering. Bryony sums herself up towards the end of the book when she describes herself as a middle-class drama queen who makes everything about her. That is how i'd describe this book too, I couldn't relate to her and I struggled to have sympathy. I think had she included the mental health struggles that she later admits were featuring heavily alongside her actions in this book it would have made for a very different (better) read. That said, I do enjoy Bryony's writing style, she has a really lovely conversational tone to her work and there was a structured story arc to the chapters. If you're a fan of Bridget Jones style books then I think you would probably enjoy this book. If you're a fan of Bryony's other books then i'm not sure that you would.

Honest, funny and I loved it
I loved this book, it was so open and honest about how our twenties really were, they weren't the life map we expected, party in the early 20's, get married by mid 20's, 2.4 children, mortgage and driving a hybrid by the late 20's, instead we wake up at 30 with a 10yr old hangover, still paying rent in a shithole getting the bus on a daily basis, and having just started mad girl, we all lied about our mental health, what did we have to be depressed about? Turns out there was quite a bit of it getting tucked away in corners we didn't go in to.......

Interesting real life story
This book started out making me a feel a bit sick.Mostly because it brought back too many of my own memories! Bryony is interesting and her story is fun to read. Good real life happy ending that comes from nowhere, and a little bit mad that she is rescued by a bloke. So kinda antithesis of anything feminist. But then this is real life and she is happy so no judgment. Probably not one for die hard feminist though. Glad she made it through that hard time. I'll be following her on instagram!

Wow! What a ride!
Blasting through her twenties, determined - no, hell bent - on being The Party girl whilst drinking copious amounts of wine and snorting cocaine, Bryony arrives, somehow, at her 30th birthday, after which she slows down, ever so slightly, finds proper, wholesome friendship and love and becomes ever so slightly 'normal'. I enjoyed reading it. Thank you, Bryony, for sharing your experiences with us.

Disappointing
The Wrong Knickers happened early on in the book which was the best bit. All downhill after that. Sorry I wasted time reading it to the end in the hope it would get better.
