SM-OCG Offset Scout Flashlight Mount

I purchased this mount after using several others and let me tell you, untill I have another weapon to mount a light on Im finally done buying mounts, I've used the VTAC, a gear selector (which I really like but its not as versital, you have to but it for the specific light) and a few others.This one is so nice compared to the VTAC. I took mine apart (by driving out the roll pins) and flipped the mount around so it hugs the rail even tighter. (This isn't the easiest thing to do so you need to be pretty mechanical, and you need new roll pins as you can't reuse the old ones) but if you can do it I highly advise it. I don't use pressure switches, I activate my light (a modded Surefire G2 with >500lm LED drop in and Elzetta hi/strobe tail cap) with my support hand index finger.Usually I write long reviews but there's not much more I can say, this is a great piece of gear and if your debating what light mount to get your only choice should be between this one and the same mount but with the quick detach (QD) function. I will be buying one of the two for every new weapon I buy that needs a light!

I really really REALLY like this light mount for my AR. It should really get 5 stars overall for the product but its just so dang expensive! If you have the money definitely get it!

The Vltor mount is a must for my M-4 service weapon! A weapon mounted lighting system is so essensial at my work because over the past year a majority of my shift work has been at night. The Vltor mount holds my Surefire G2 flashlight and is accessed while using a Tango Down stubby vertical grip. Overall, a great system that doesn't weigh much and doesn't snag on all the brush and vegetation I constantly patrol through. Definitely a good buy!

Works great fits flashlights just under 1 inch

The best feature of this mount for me is that it fits Surefire G2 Nitrolon series of flashlights, which are just slightly thicker than 1 inch in diameter. The mount accomplishes it by having a clever mechanical design. The same screws tighten the grip on the flashlight and on the rail, but accomplish it without a tilting plate under the screw heads (nuts). This way, the mount has a large adjustment range for various flashlights, yet it grips flashlights of all sizes with the same force. The construction quality is top notch too, but that goes without saying.It must be noted, that nuts are designed to be tightened by hand, not Allen wrench. Therefore, you may have a difficult time putting this mount on e.g. MOE sectons over flat forends. It needs space where nuts are, so works best on top rails, barrel adapters, etc.
