Great glasses for the BenQ W1070
I bought 2 pairs of the True Depth 3D Firestorm LT glasses and promptly returned these for several issues which have all been addressed with this updated model of the LT. The glasses work perfectly so there is nothing more to say there, they do exactly what you want and do it perfectly. The fit of these glasses are great for an adult and very comfortable, they may be a little large for children. The lenses are large allowing full view of large screens without head tilting or adjusting the glasses on your face. They sync up instantly and stay in sync the entire movie even if you look away from the screen for moment. If you are considering buying the BenQ glasses just stop. These are better, stay in sync better and provide a brighter image than the BenQ glasses and you can get 2 pairs for around the price of 1 pair of the BenQ glasses. I had several complaints on the Firestorm LT glasses which you can read in my review of them, of those complaints only 1 carries over to XL model and that is the fact that they only include a USB charging cable and no wall charger (you have to use a USB port) and they even changed the mini USB end that plugs into the glasses with a less common or maybe even proprietary connection, so even if you have some mini USB wall chargers already you can't use them with these glasses. Your only option other than plugging them into a computer is if you have a USB wall charger to plug their cable into. I just feel this should be included in the package. I can make due using what I have but it may be an issue for others and worth mentioning. One other very small thing, and I only mention this because a rep from True Depth commented on my review of the LT model glasses, the box that the LT glasses came in was well made and I had every intention of using it to store the glasses in. The new box is more of just a box, not as nice as the first design. I don't know if the box was really intended to use as storage since they provide a cloth case but the box was so nice, well made and convenient it would have been great to provide some extra protection. All in all the glasses really are fantastic and the USB cable does allow for charging so really that issue is far outweighed by the quality and function of the glasses. The box........that comment was for True Depth not for you to consider in your decision.

Doesn't work for my set up at all...
I ordered these based on the excellent reviews but unfortunately they were both unusable. I received them right away and they looked great, fit my 6 year old daughter and I loved the fact that they were rechargeable. After opening the package I let them charge for about 4 hours before even attempting to use them, the red light came on and went off again well before I unplugged them so I'm sure they were both fully charged. We had also just received Puss N Boots in 3D which we put in the PS3, made sure 3D was on and working and started watching. I was in charge (self appointed) of testing out these new glasses and immediately noticed flashing/flickering and the 3D cutting in and out. I switched to the second pair, turned them on and the same thing started happening. I then tried our Optima ZD101s which worked great and lastly our UltraClear's which also worked fine. The flickering mostly occurred when the film changed from light to dark scenes (or vice versa) and at one point the "camera" panned to the sky which was bright blue with clouds at which point the glasses flashed and went kaleidoscopic-ish (hope that makes sense...) until the scene changed. My wife noticed the same things as I did. After the movie I switch to Crysis in 3D mode and experienced the same issues although not as bad as with the movie so I had to conclude that these just didn't work in my set up. Also, the first pair of DLP Link glasses I purchases were the Xpand X102s which I had to return for the exact same reason.I have a Mitsubishi WD-73838 TV and the 838 series have the built in transmitter and are specifically called out as compatible with the glasses and then a PS3 as mentioned for a player. As far as the 4 brands of glasses go this has been my experienceTrue Depth/Xpand X102 - unwatchable due to flickering and the 3D signals cutting in and out. Both look nice and the True depth fit both adults and children, I believe the Xpands did as well but it been too long to remember for sure.Optima ZD101 - Probably the best 3D optics but the form factor is abysmal! They don't fit anyone well especially children. I have 2 pairs of these and 1 arm broke completely off and the other 3 have tears in them so will probably be breaking soon. At some point I'm going to cut the arms off and drill some holes or something so I can attach some sort of sport band to them...UltraClear HD - the optics (by optics I'm just referring to our 3D viewing quality not the actual lenses btw)are the same or at least close to the Optimas. These are also the smallest and probably best looking IMO. They fit adults and even better on kids and will be what I'm replacing the True Depths with.If you wear glasses for watching movies the Optimas are probably the best then True Depth but I doubt they would work with the UltraClears and again I can't remember the Xpands enough to comment since I also don't wear glasses. If the True Depth work for you then you're lucky. They look great, feel great and I especially like the rechargeable part although the batteries the others use are common enough and easy to change. If you're looking at these and have used the Xpands before I'd base your decision on how well those worked for you since my experience was the same for these two.
