Not the same as the product description and a strange smell
I thought I'd ordered green pencils by the pictures and the review pictures but mine came as the normal recycled paper look.also it smelt a bit fishy so I've had tolet them air out by a window and hope the smell improves.

Love it.
For absolutely no extra effort why not help a little to stop destroying the earth. Need more stuff like this. The pencils work just fine and look really cool.

You wouldn't know the difference
You wouldn't know that these pencils aren't just ordinary pencils by looking at them or using them. It says on the box that they are 100% newspaper so I assume that the 'lead' in the pencil is made from newspaper as well as the 'wooden' part, otherwise they couldn't claim 100% newspaper, I would have thought. The pencils write just the same as normal pencils and what has been written rubs out just as easily and effectively with a normal rubber, you really wouldn't know that this isn't just ordinary lead. There are 12 in the pack and they are all pencils, not coloured pencil crayons. I found the photograph in the listing of pencil crayons (coloured pencils) confusing as I can see no way on the page to make a choice but maybe the seller is going to update that at some point in the future. For now, I can confirm that they are pencils and NOT pencil crayons. A really good option if you want to be environmentally friendly and I think that all pencils should be made this way going forward. I'll definitely be buying this type in future.

A pencil with environmental credentials!
My primary school age children are becoming more and more environmentally conscious and therefore they were delighted when I told them that we had some pencils to trial that are made recycled newspaper. The pencils come unsharpened. We sharpened a few of them and they sharpen well (no broken leads which is a good start and no shaft breakages), the children loved the colours that pop up within the pencils as a result of them being made from newspapers. The pencils were then put to the test. The lead in seemingly strong as again we had no writing breakages, my children all found them to be comfortable to write with. We all agreed that green was an appropriate colour for the outside of the pencil given their environmental credentials! The cost per pencil is reasonable and therefore it is likely that this is what we will buy when we need more in the future.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
I love the concept of using old newspapers to enrobe these pencils. There's no wood used to wraparound the pencil leads except for the recycled compacted paper.I sharpened these pencils using our battery operated sharpener from Amazon - an ENORMOUSLY crucial gadget in a home with kids.I found though, that these pencils are a little more difficult to sharpen than standard wooden pencils. The machine struggles to slice through the material. That said, they're still sharpenable.See attached pics for a better, more close-up look.:)

Pencils from newspaper? You bet!
Read all about it! These Pandoo 12 Recycled Newspaper Pencils are just like normal wood pencils but using recycled newspaper. The advantage is obviously environmental but there's absolutely no disadvantage here, so it's win/win.As you'd expect, the pencils come in a recyclable box and require sharpening before use. They sharpen just like any normal pencil and product the same results. Not much more to be said other than this is a great idea.

Brilliant pencils, eco-friendly, recycled & wood free!
Pando HB pencils are really well made, they are recycled from newspapers, eco-friendly & wood free, these pencils are really good to write with, the led is well made & is sharp when sharpened to a point ( see pictures ) this is only been sharpened once and hardly any led was used, which is fantastic as they last longer. The pando pencils come in a pack of 12 and as you can see they are made with paper you can see how they are made in pictures I’ve posted, I really really like these pencils and would definitely recommend them

Clever pencils.
These pencils come in a recycled cardboard box, they are bright green and when you look at them you wouldn't know that they were anything other than normal pencils but once you sharpen them you can see the newspaper inside. These need to be sharpened before you can use them which is a shame, I much prefer getting pre-sharpened pencils, but with these pencils, it is quite nice that by sharpening them, you get to see the newspaper inside. They work just like any other pencil but you can feel better about using them and knowing that you are not damaging the planet more than you need to.
