Works as good as it looks!
I needed an oil can as I had lost my last one in the move to the new house. The last one was from TSC and it took a beating but always worked. This one is of better quality and is actually less expensive than my last one!I like how it works, nice and smooth. It has also seen some rough use and looks and works great!

Everyone should own one of these.
This is just like the oil can my father had. He had one of these when I was a kid, as far back as I remember. My father was a child of the depression. When I say he had one of these, I don't mean he always owned one. I mean he always owned the same one. He had one, all my life. When he passed I hung on to his tools (and his oil can). I opened a car stereo business in my 20's (dad was already gone) and a lot of my dad's tools wound up in the shop - drill press, grinding wheel, hand tools, tool storage cabinets that he had built himself, and of course the oil can. I sold the business when I was 40 and the tools and equipment, and the oil can, stayed with the business and the new owners. At 40 I went to school and started working as a professional - no more tools, no more oil can. Now, years later, I am doing work on cars with my own son (like my dad did with me) and It occured to me that Oil does not always have to come out of a spray can. This one looked just like my father's so i selected it. I filled it up and tried it out, and it's just cool. It works smooth (well, it is well oiled) and does not leak. My son seems to like it. I named him after my father - an old fashioned Italian name. I am so glad I did that.Ahh, just reminiscing. But it is a good oil can anyway.

Old style and works as only old style can do - everyone needs one of these
No leaks, easy fill, easy pump.I need this to fill an impossible to access reservoir - long flexible delivery tube.

Good but...
Seems to leak at the base, there's always oil under this thing. As for oiling ball oilers on my machines; with some it works fine with others oil just squirts back out from the tip. I'm not sure why but I think it might be the ball oilers themselves rather than this oilier. I mention this because I'd gone thru a few other oil cans thinking it was their tips being wrong size or defective. The tip on this one looks good, small tip, precise opening and it works on more oilers than the others I've used. It may not be the solution to the problem but I guess it will do. Otherwise it seems to be better quality than most others. I give it four starts only because it leaks.

This Can Leaks!
I did read the prior reviews indicating that others had problems with leakage but it seemed to have good reviews as well and it was reported to be manufactured in the USA. Well I ordered this can and intended to use it with Aviation Hydraulic Fluid. I have used the cheap Harbor Freight Cans for years with this same fluid and have had no problems although I just didn't like the nozzle and wanted a can made in the USA if possible so I foolishly tried this Goldenrod can. It began to leak within the first 2 hours after I filled it and the leak is around the bottom of the can along the rim. I don't know if the manufacturer stamps the can in a press or welds or glues the base to the body of the can but the seam is faulty. This truly junk!I wouldn't trust this company again! The full name of the manufacturer of this defective oil can is the Dutton-Lainson Company. I would NOT recommend their products! For one thing, the reviews of this and similar cans made by this company have indicated that they leak yet this company has obviously decided to keep on marketing crap to trusting customers as long as it sells rather than "retooling" and actually make a this product reliable and functional! My advice is to AVOID THE PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY!
