Great product, we have worked hard to get our ...
It saved our tank! Despite testing and regular water changes and all the care a couple of hobbyists a year in could provide, something bothered our fish one morning. They were all gasping for air at the top of the tank when I got up. I did a quick water change (luckily, we had enough water already de-chloramined and ready to go) and I also put in this Poly-Filter pad. The fish recovered and we didn't lose any of them. The pad did soak up something, not exactly sure what, despite the color coding. Great product, we have worked hard to get our tank healthy for our tropical fish and a die off would have been devastating for everyone, especially the fish! We'll be keeping these on hand and we plan to use them in a DIY protein skimmer project too. Also, hoping that these will help when we go on long trips and need to skip a water change. I got this after watching a Rachel O'Leary video (and Aquarium Coop too) and am glad I tried it.

This Product Has Been Around For 40 Years
I've been using these on and off for at least 30 years. While this looks like some simple mechanical filter pad, it is impregnated with non-toxic substances that will clean your tank of harmful chemicals and toxins,If you suspect heavy metals or other toxins in your tank, use this instead of carbon. The pads also remove copper, antibiotics, or other medications after treatment. The pad itself is about 1/2-in thick, so you can easily use scissors to cut to fit your canister or hang-on filters. It lasts a long time and can be recharged. After a month or so, rinse it under tap water (for saltwater tanks) or rinse in salted water (for freshwater tanks) to recharge. When the pad turns dark brown, it can't be recharged anymore.

Should be in everyones arsenal
This should be in every fishkeepers arsenal, it removes toxins and will actually show you what toxin it removes by it's color. For example tannins is not a toxin but if you put a piece in with a tannins or organic matter it will turn brown from it removing it, for copper it will turn blue and so on. I'm currently medicating my fish and afterwards I will just put a piece in and let it help remove the medication. If course I am going to do a water change after medicating but this is extra insurance.

Having had large tanks up to 75 gallons I find keeping a small Nano tank more challenging so you need to find the highest qualit
What can I say but a must have if you are serious fish keeper, I have a Fluval Edge 6 gallon tank and when used with Chemi-Pure Nano bags the water is chrystal clear, Having had large tanks up to 75 gallons I find keeping a small Nano tank more challenging so you need to find the highest quality media you can get and this works the best I have been using it for years.

Miracle for aquarium keepers
Absolutely LOVE this stuff. Even have it on auto-ship. If you have sensitive/delicate fish/inverts this product is a must have. Saw it initially on an aquarist YouTube channel and am so glad. I’m a very busy person, I have multiple tanks and don’t always get to my water changes as I should, with product I know my aqua-babies are safe. The ONLY thing I would remind people of is to take it out of the tank for a couple of days if you are adding any chemicals to the tank (additives or meds) as this will suck the treatment right out of the water. It also took the tannins out of my Blackwater tank (which isn’t harmful, just defeats the look).

Brown algae?
I tried EVERYTHING to solve my brown algae problem. Nothing worked. Every time I cleaned my 50 gallon tank, the brown algae came back. UNTIL, I found this product. It cured my brown algae problem almost instantly. Easy to use. No extra reactors or stuff like that. So easy, I just dropped it into my Tidal 75 filter after a good tank cleaning and I have never had brown algae since. It is a permanent part of my filter media.

This stuff is awesome.
I have a smaller tank of small shrimps with limited filtration, so having a small cube of the poly filter gives me confidence that my tank is good. I don't use this as a filter pad. I just let a small cube or two sit at the bottom of the tank. Shrimps seem to like cleaning algae bits off it.

Wish I had known about this product sooner!
We moved to a different area, and my fish seemed okay initially with the new water supply. Everything tested okay. But, over some months, I eventually lost about half my tank, one fish at a time. I talked to several aquarium experts in town, and one of them suggested Poly-Filter. What a difference! In addition to stabilizing the chemistry of the tank, algae growth has stopped. The fish seem happier and healthier. I don't know everything that's in the water here, but Poly-Filter is handling it.

Bought for peace of mind in my tanks.
I keep axolotls and my father keeps fish tanks. I was suggested to use Polyfilter by another keeper who also keeps a marine shop, as I had the odd problem with ammonia going up to 0.25ppm. He originally gave me Arcadia Polyfilter, and suggested I cut strips off and place it directly into the tank (I have PF filters which are much flatter and thinner than the Polyfilter is).I bought this hoping it would be as good as the Arcadia brand and I haven't been disappointed - it's cheaper, the same size and just as effective. I use it to ensure my parameters don't go up any higher than they have to, but it's also good for removing medicines and toxic chemicals from the water - it'll even tell you what it's removed by changing colour, with a guide to the colour and what it means on the back of the packet. Have no fear it will crash your cycle by removing ammonia for your bacteria to eat - it does no such thing. I have used it in my tanks for months and I have never had a cycle crash. It's good for tense moments - when you're not sure but something doesn't seem right in your tank - or to keep around in case your tank needs medicating. The only downside is that, as the last reviewer said, it gets used up quickly. My axolotls produce a lot of waste and, with water changes at 50% a week, it tends to last around a month before it goes black (i.e it can't absorb any more). It does say you can rinse it out, but I haven't ever managed this so I just change it for new.Overall, I count this as a good product to have and I haven't ever stopped using it since it was suggested but it is expensive and does get used up quickly (a piece this size tends to last around 3 months for me, if my father doesn't pinch any for his tanks).
