We've been monthly subscribers for at least 10 months to this vanilla nut and other varieties of The Bean Company's organic whole bean coffees. The flavor on this is outstanding - hands down my favorite go-to flavored coffee of all time. Very nutty, and the beans are nice and oily when freshly roasted.If you want consistency and quality on The Bean Company's products, I suggest going to their website and paying a couple of bucks extra for their subscribe and save program. Amazon has been slacking on their rotating the inventory of their wholesale purchases from The Bean Company (see that is sold and shipped by Amazon) and so you may not get the freshness and full flavor profile that can be assured from buying direct from the roasters. We had a few bags from Amazon that did not match the quality of what we have come to expect from The Bean Company and are switching our subscriptions over to their website moving forward. That said, the customer support over at The Bean Company stands behind its products even when sold and shipped by Amazon. They're mailing us a replacement 5lb bag to replace the disappointing batch shipped by Amazon. The company is working now with Amazon to resolve the issues so as to protect their reputation. You don't have to be afraid to buy from Amazon, since The Bean Company will remedy any quality issues arising from Amazon's mismanagement of inventory, but that has to come at a cost to the company. If it makes sense for you, buy direct. In either case, wonderful products from a well-managed and quality-focused company, regardless of where purchased. We buy more than 10lb/mo. Highly recommend.

I love this coffee, most of the time. I have it on subscription and the last time we received it, it was delicious. So much flavor! You could see the oiliness on the beans and smell the vanilla as it was brewing. However, we just opened our new bag and it is the complete opposite. The beans are dry and there is no aroma or flavor. It's like they forgot to put it in!

We have been buying the smaller bags of this coffee for about a year now. I was happy to know the 5lb bag exists and couldn’t resist but order it, because we’re in love with this flavor and this producer :)

This arrived nicely vacuum sealed , with no defects or damage. This is VERY fresh smelling, but after looking at the beans and tasting them, it seems to be (in my humble opinion). A dark expresso roast , not medium. After Tasting this the Vanilla was barely detectable. & It came across more of like a rich deep chocolate flavor due to the heavy dark roasting of the beans. I know these are done in small batches so maybe there was some kind of error with my bag. But I will more than likely mix these with other beans or grind them to be used as a true flavored expresso.** This does have a notable roasted smoky finish to it as well.**

Best flavor, organic, good price, ground is our preference, doesn’t make you jittery from too much caffeine. Mild roast and very aromatic. The best smelling coffee ever.

So, I bought two bags of the vanilla bean because, based on some reviewer complaints, I wanted that heavy vanilla scent and flavor. I didn't get that. While there's a sticker on both bags that says it's vanilla bean, there is absolutely nothing about the coffee to indicate such. What I got was a mildly tasty medium-roast coffee, and it tastes much like something I would get when ordering in a restaurant. Nothing more. I couldn't find any means to contact the company via Amazon and when I went to their website, their contact form wasn't usable. Better quality control is needed because this isn't what I ordered.

As several other reviewers have reported, I ordered "whole bean", and the product I received was labeled "whole bean" both on the inner box and on the bag itself - yet inside I found pre-ground coffee. They sell a separate item (B00MW65EUQ) which is actually intended to be "ground", so clearly the manufacturer screwed up on one or more batches, putting the ground product into whole bean bags (and perhaps vice versa too - didn't check reviews on the other).What's incredible to me is that the first review I see claiming to have received ground coffee in place of whole beans is from September 2017. So, over three years and "The Bean Company" is *still* making this error, still failing to implement effective quality assurance measures.If all of the reviews reporting this problem were recent (i.e. if it had maybe just been one bad batch), or if there was any response from the company about it, I might give them another shot in the future. However, 3+ years of a coffee company failing to distinguish between ground and whole bean coffee, and no acknowledgement of the problem? Will not be buying again.

I am a sucker for flavoured coffees, but unfortunately most of them are NOT organic. My coffee habit will not go away, despite my healthy eating and active lifestyle routine. I know how terrible non-organic coffee is, so this gives me a little more peace of mind and it tastes delicious! The fact that it is whole bean allows me to grind it in small batches; therefore increasing the freshness:) Love it!

I wanted to try some new (for me) coffee brands but looks this is not what I looked for. For the 2x 1lb ordered one of the bags is basically more than half empty. Sealed and pressurized so it's not like something got missing outside the factory walls.

Product was supposed to come as a whole bean, but it was already ground up. And the reseal mechanism was only glued on one side, so I could not seal the bag back up. Taste was alright. Would have been nice to have a stronger vanilla flavour.

I usually don't like flavoured coffees.... but this one is really nice. I was quite surprised. I also make some and chill it down with ice and put in smoothies with almond milk, works well for me.
