Decent gift but dissapointed.
TL; DR: beautiful craftsmanship but disappointed with staining on axe head.Pros: leather tooling/print/scabbard is beautiful and good craftsmanship. The axe head is a cool crescent shape. Blade is sharp. The handle is shiny attractive wood.Cons: When I took the axe out of the scabbard I noticed there was sticky, dark ooze on different parts of the metal head, which I imagine is some staining/treating chemical that was used on the leather scabbard and leaked onto the blade. I used goo be gone, then wd-40 to get rid of it but the blade is etched from whatever chemical was on the blade---no matter how much elbow grease I use. Further, the axe head seems slightly wobbly and I do not have faith that it would stay on very long after repeated use.
