Sage learns something magical about Mom!
When Daisy, the pet dog-turned-unicorn spills the last of the Fizzle Flakes, Sage finds out there’s more to her mom than meets the eye! “My Mom the Fairy” is an enchanted adventure to the land of Fizzle Valley where Sage and her mom go on the hunt for more of these magical flakes. Why are Fizzle Flakes so important? Well, if you’re a part-time tooth fairy, these flakes are a necessary part of the job!“My Mom the Fairy” has charming characters that will entertain little ones from first page to last. Sage is energetic and lively; the pixies are mischievous and not too friendly – they don’t want to give up any Fizzle Flakes! And mom? Well, what can you say about a mom that moonlights as a part time tooth fairy, except – Awesome!Having read and reviewed several of the books by Misty Black, I have to say I love her creativity and think she has a wonderful ability to connect with young readers through her stories. As a nice change from all the moral-based stories out there (not a bad thing), it’s often fun to read a story just for the entertainment value, and with unicorns, pixies, magical moms and slime – it’s entertainment at its finest!About the illustrations. To state that they are bright and colorful would be a total understatement! When Sage and her mom enter Frizzle Valley the colors explode and if color could make the earth move you would definitely feel it happening on these pages – rich, vibrant, and energetic – kids will love them. This big kid does! And, not to focus too much on personal appearances, but – can I just say I love Sage’s ombré hair?!Overall, “My Mom the Fairy” is a delightful story that will entertain readers of all ages. Another successful addition to the author’s collection.

Imaginative adventure story for early readers
An fun and imaginative story of a girl who discovers a secret-- her mom is a part-time fairy! They go on an adventure to recoup mom's needed magic sparkles and save her mom's fairy status. My five-year-old was engaged for a read aloud, and then later able to read the story on her own, so it's a great fit for early readers and through elementary school.Recommended for children ages 4 to 8, kindergarten through second grade.

Such a Great Story and Adventure!
I read this to my special needs child and because of the diverse storyline and adventure of the slime, unicorns, fairies, and pixies, and illustrations, it kept her attention for the entire story. Misty is an amazing children's author and does it again as this is the sequel story.

What little girl doesn't love a Unicorn story? A beautiful book
I read this new book by Misty Black to my 7 year old step-granddaughter, who is absolutely obsessed with Unicorns and Fairies, and I thought she would love this book. I was right, she was fascinated with the idea of Daisy the Dog turning into a Pet Unicorn, with the spillage of fizzle flakes and rainbow sprinkles (I mean what little girl doesn't want a Pet Unicorn?).The story follows Sage and her Mom, who is a part-time tooth fairy, as they set off to top up their Fizzle flakes, and grow wings and fly on the back of Daisy the Unicorn dog, meeting fierce and friendly pixies along the way.The illustrations by Fx and Color Studio are beautiful and so colourful and with so much lovely detail. We both enjoyed finding the pixies on each page, and I know this storybook is now a firm favourite.

A magical sequel for young unicorn and fairy lovers.
Having read in book 1 in this series about how one little girl accidentally gains a unicorn, it was fun to check out this magical sequel. The illustrations are bright and cheerful, and if you know a kid who loves unicorns then it’s probably true that they love fairies too. This story follows Daisy as she makes the shocking discovery that her Mum is in fact a part-time tooth fairy! (I’m guessing many Mum’s will smile at this revelation!)
