HJC Smart 10B Unit Street Motorcycle Helmet Accessories - Silver/One Size

This works great with the HJC modular helmets. I own the I90 model and the installation was easily. The Bluetooth works as it should. Sound quality is clear and loud “do not expect heavy bass”. Phone calls work well. The buttons are textile and easy to find. Charge seams to last a good while also.

The price is pretty good for the quality of the electronics and that's really what your paying for. I was disappointed in the fit of the overall unit during installation. It's better than a lot of other units but not all of them. The issue is, this is a proprietary set up designed especially for these helmets so, it's quite disappointing. Mostly I guess it's the wire routing from the control unit that's the worst. You would think that there would be some kind of built in channeling for a proprietary unit not just stuffing it up in the shell. There's routing channels for the Mic wire but, it doesn't retain the wire very well. The speakers do pop into place fairly well and don't press on your ears. The installation instructions that come in the box are horrible. Tiny pictures and no written instructions. To get the actual helpful instructions, you need to go to the website and download the actual manual. Now as to the sound. These are loud but, not very good sound quality and no bass whatsoever. If this is a helmet you will be using all the time and playing a lot of music then, go with the 20's or the 50's in this series or not the Smart HJC series at all.

In the "directions" it says to hold down the center button and tap the + button to pair but that did not work for me. I had to press and hold the center button and the + button until I got the message that it was pairing. It will go through the messages that it is pairing to intercom but after that you will hear the pairing prompt. I tried the directions with 2 different iPhones and using their direction. So I know it wasn't an iPhone issue. After it connected, it was working really well. Install wasn't hard at all. I installed this in a Harley Davidson full face helmet. I haven't used it on a ride yet. Can't wait.Update: I used the HJC B10 yesterday on a bike ride. It does connect quickly but like other reviews, the bass isnt there. It is very tinny but I will still use it.

The intercom works quite well, as long as I have line of sight, it seems to work clear for just under half a mile, and if it's not line of sight, it seems to get crackly fairly quickly. The bluetooth features on this headset are where it really shines. It's great for listening to music, and doing voice calls, through your phone. However your phone requires network connection for calls, and as we all know... the best roads don't have that. Download that Spotify playlist, and you can keep the music going!

First the positive -They were very easy to install. The instructions were a bit small to be able to see the details, but there are YouTube videos that walk you through the process, which made it super easy.I read several complaints about the sound quality, but I think they're fine considering the small speakers. They're also in a concealed space (helmet), so....Ease of use. Controls are pretty straightforward and pairing was simple and quick to my phone and the second unit I purchased for my passenger.My disappointment in this product is the lack of ability to use the intercom and music at the same time. I don't think anyone turns off the music every time they speak to their passenger or visa versa when they wear half helmets (or none at all), or if they're sitting in a room somewhere for that matter. So why would it be reasonable to have to do it when you're operating a Motorcycle???I guess I should take some responsibility for assuming that if a device plays music and can be used as an intercom, that it could do "both", rather than "either". I just can't imagine that anyone would prefer not to have the option to do both.

i ride a harley davidson with aftermarket exhaust and for how loud my bike is i can hear clearly, i have a modular helmet and the mic pics up fantastic when open or closed, my friends i talk to while riding cant hear my bike or hear wind noise. the speakers are loud and clear but cannot handle bass when it comes to music, so if you like to play house,bass boosted or any songs with a loud bump have the volume low to medium and it will play fine. For the price its fantastic and i read a lot of reviews complaining about the music sound. yea it sucks but for the price,battery life, and how easy it is to install its a very minor gripe for me

Alright, for starters.I like the fact that this was designed for the HJC helmet. Makes installation quick and easy, keeps everything looking sleek. Unit powers on and auto connects to bluetooth right away so you can start playing your music or chatting with the boys/gals as you’re out cruising.So heres a tough one for me since I don’t actually leave reviews for anything.The audio on this is pretty mediocre?I listen to different types of music (rock hip hop rap Latin r&b country) some sound great on this BT unit. Others not so much, I cannot listen to hip hop rap songs due to the fact that if any of these songs have a snare in the instrumental, it becomes ear piercing. So bad that the first few times I thought it would be the imbalance of the 10b volume and iPhone volume. Nope. That wasn’t it. Tried connecting it to my PC to check if maybe just maybe there would be a sort of EQ setting that i can play with but, the 10b would not connect to my PC. My computer recognizes the device, the support app that was downloaded could not “detect a device.”Then again it was only $160, If i wanted to get better audio should have gotten the 20b?Oh well, it’s already installed and it works ok.Just not going to recommend this product to the boys.

So far so good intercoms connected easily to our phones and each other, sound is loud and clear if slightly tinny. Very happy

Easy to install. There are youtube videos as well. I use it mostly to hear directions from my gps. If listening to music it lowers the music when gps directions are being given. I like having the ability to listen to music when I want to. Not great sound quality (reminds me of the old handheld transistor radio) but breaks the constant hum of the bike. Gave it three stars because directions say to “tap” for some settings and “push” for others. I can’t seem to master it and gave up trying to “tap” to raise and lower volume while listening to music. I use the controls on my phone.

I ordered this in April, got it in July.OEMcycles refused to look into tracking as it was out of their hands. I was lucky it even got here as packing was damages but product was good. Also ordered throttle lock for Indian scout Bobber and was nowhere near being able to fit and install. then had to pay shipping back.NO Recommended Seller.
