Monoprice DVI-I Male to 3 RCA Component Adapter w/ DIP Switch for ATI Video Cards (Gold Plated)

I tried it on three video cards. It only worked on one (ati 4550hd). It didn't work on ati 9600 or a 9800se. The switch settings seam to be mostly meaningless. The output to the tv looks very nice.

Firstly, The other reviews on this website maybe referred to a different company. I contacted the present company before I ordered (because I was very concerned)and they assured me they are not the same people. Sorry to hear your drama, previous customers. Luckily I had an almost perfect experience.I got the item as described in a relatively timely manner (I paid extra for faster shipping, and thought it would get there slightly faster than it did). Overall, very impressed (item pricing is awesome!). The product itself works awesome! It took about 3 hours to set up though. I am an advanced PC user.Had an HDTV ready component video input Samsung HDTV, an ATI Radeon 4850 HD card, running windows 7. You definately need two monitors to set this up (your pc monitor, and the compnent video tv). I found that I had to tweak both the Catalyst control center console AND the windows 7 display settings, and had the dip switch set to 1080. Had my tv set as "CV TV" on the ATI control center (Component Video TV) and had the tv at 30 Hz (Hertz/refresh rate setting is crucial!!). Then from there I found out my TV could do 1024 X 768, and surprisingly 1080 x 1920 {hell yeah!!!}, interlaced, for my old TV. Tweaking the picture on my TV was mainly underscan/overscan and brightness (all from ATI control center). Also, I noticed if you have 4:3 aspect video, you need 1024 x 768 for best results, and when its actual HD, your TV needs 1080 x 1920, otherwise there will be black spaces. Im totally buying more of these and maybe VGA to component too if it exists for cheap presents for my PC illerate friends who want netflix on their TV's. Cheers!

Bought the wrong thing, my bad.

This item poorly listed, poorly described, it has a niche compatibility that isn't fully explained anywhere until you actually spend some time googling it. Sadly I bought it at face value. Didn't work, even though it was listed as being compatible for my video card. From what I've read, there are very few cards that work with this, and even then it's hit or miss. I envy those who have the right video card for this though. It's a great concept, I just wish it worked.

Very disappointed. It is not the correct item I ordered and took too long to get delivered and is now TOO LATE to return the item. I am very upset with Amazon for this purchase and am hoping that this is not an issue again or I will stop using Amazon for purchases.

I bought this to connect a Mac Pro two and older TV the did not have HDMI connections. I tried all kinds of different settings and adjustments and nothing seems to make it work. It was a waste of money.

The adapter works fine and activates hidden functions shown in the software of my ATI graphics card (this is one of those listed as being compatible) and changes the output.I shall now be able to upgrade and not lose my existing setup from “S” to Component video through a long SCART cable for my new (Smart) TV when it arrives.One concern I had was that after ordering I noticed that the dimensions shown were much bigger than expected. To my relief the device received was as hoped for and shown in the picture.
