2TB External Hard Drive, Portable Hard Drive Ultra Slim Type-C USB 3.1 HDD for Mac, PC, Laptop, Xbox one(2TB, Gold)

The unit was extremely slow, Amazon sent me a replacement thinking first one was defective. Second unit had the same slow response. Upon research further, noticed they are using Samsung 128 GB ssd formated to look like a 2 TB drive. This is same as 32 GB microSD formated to look like a 1 TB. see the picture of the drive used, google to find out the spec's.I won't recommend, and also call for investigation on this product by Amazon team. This is cheating in my opinion.Unacceptable practice.

I have been waiting for the capacity to go up and for prices go down for years. how small and lightweight this drive is, my desktop hard drives are about 6 times the size and weight. I spent all day yesterday, moving files from other hard drives and it stayed at room temperature. It has about 80% the speed of my desktop hard drives when they were brand new. That is a small trade off for me.I have the USB plugged into one of my hard drives. I wish the USB cord was about 3 feet longer. I think I am going start buying portable hard drives most of the time from now on!

This is the 2rd or 3th portable sized Hard Drives I have purchased for backing up 1000's of photos. All of them have worked great out of the box and continue to do so over the years. This is my latest purchase of a larger size as my photo library grows. I carry these on vacations too and I haven't had any problems but I am careful to make sure I don't drop them or expose them to severe impact. They are not designed for that.

It has worked well so far and I'm pleased with how big it is and how easy it has been to use. I got this to put all my data from my old mac onto my new one. It took just a minute to format the drive. If you are going to use this for your mac, go to applications. Select utilities and open disk utility. You should have the hard drive plugged in. If you select it under disk utility then go to erase and there is a little drop down menu that says format. If you select that it will erase/format the drive and then you can drag and drop files in finder or you can use time machine to back it up.

I have had update issues before with both Linux distros and Windows and the computer would not load the OS. I could get to the BIOS screen. So now I can surf safely and have access to my favorite programs on both OS's and get the best of both worlds. 1TB Portable External Hard Drive ...thats it and at 1 Tb...you can load thousands of pictures and music to it and have plenty of space left, I had not 1 problem with it and was set up and ready to go in less than 1 minute. As well as protect my data from loss. As long as I can boot to one or the other I can retrieve my data. So awesome.

I love this hard drive. It works great for all my docs that were cramming up my computer. I have uploaded a pic for you Mac users to see how to reformat the hard drive to be able to use it. It takes only like 4 clicks. Type in your Mac search bar for “disk utility” app, select the new hard drive, and then in the popup box where you see “Format”, in that drop down menu select “Mac OS Extended” then click “Erase”. That’s it, you can start dragging docs to the drive. Super easy. I’m glad I bought it cuz its affordable & has a lot of storage! ??

As my headline states, I bought two of these external hard drives to use as additional storage for both my PS4 and Xbox One. The setup was easy and only requires a quick format by navigating through each consoles respective settings. They are particularly handy since they do not require their own power source. It's great having a greater amount of space rather than multiple smaller drives. The portability is good as well.

It’s a great little External/portable hard drive. I personally use mine for my PS4 since this is USB 3.1 so it works with the console. If you do plan on using it with a PS4 setup is super easy, it’s just plug and play. Just plug it in, turn on your console and it will automatically recognize it and ask if you want to make it an extended storage. Nice you download a lot games and also want to take them to a friends house. Just shutdown your console and then unplug the hard drive. Go to your buddies house, plug the drive in and sign in onto your account. BOOM. All of your games are there.
