Erdtmanns Westerland Wooden Silo Seed Feeder

I cut my hand this morning on the glass when I was putting food into the box. The glass is very, very sharp and the edges are exposed on both sides. The glass should have something to cover the edges to prevent this in future.

I added some screws, a better hanging rope and sealed/painted my bird feeder, now it will last for years. This feeder is a good value and can be used as delivered, but I would not expect it to last a long time without the improvements I made. There ain't no Coupe de Ville hiding in the bottom of a Cracker Jack box!

The quality of this bird feeder is sub-par at best. The package game extremely well wrapped, upon opening i noticed the roof of the bird feeder was falling apart, had to re-staple the roof. This didn't bother me as i had the tools to do so, putting it back together i noticed how warped the pieces of wood are, even being a gap nearly 3/8" to the bird house. The center beam across the inside had 3 staples on one side, two on the other. None of which held the piece of wood in. After sanding and minor cutting i got this to an acceptable level of quality and feel OK giving this as a Christmas gift. will not buy this piece again. your better off buying a build your own kit.

Bellissima. Necessita di qualche mano di impregnante per proteggere il legno dalle intemperie. Personalmente ho anche ricoperto il tetto di pellicola di rame per una protezione definitiva.

Haven't filled it yet as I am wondering whether I should preserve it as I have had untreated bird feeders in the past and they have rotted. A good size but I think it may need a bit more support than the cord on it but otherwise like the idea
