Great to increase confidence, fun and not stressful!
My 8 year old son is dyspraxic and really struggles with both fine and gross motor skills. His handwriting has caused him to get behind at school as it takes him much longer than his classmate to complete work and this has really knocked his confidence. There are two workbooks included and a 'teachers' guide on how best to use them, I started my son on some of the later parts of book 2 first and my 3 year old daughter has started at the beginning. We do 5 minutes a day after breakfast before school and I've already seen improvement in pencil grip and control, my son is forming letters with more ease than before and writing seems a bit more comfortable now. Both children are happy doing the exercises as they seem more fun than work, and my daughter actually asks to do her 'homework' if I forget!I would suggest you photocopy the pages so you can use it for more than one child or repeat the exercise that has been enjoyed, I plan to pass my books on to my son's school when we have completed them!

So far, so good!
Recommended by my daughter's OT (she is 6, with dyspraxia and handwriting is a huge struggle for her). In two months we are about one quarter of the way through, and we do 10-20 mins a day. We don't rush the book and I photocopy pages and do supplementary exercises when she struggles with a particular part. I can already see significant improvements, she is drawing pictures now which she has never been able to do before and her writing has improved significantly. She wrote four lines yesterday- four words was an impossibility for her when we started. I will update at the end of the programme but so far I am impressed.

Expensive but worth it
We bought this as it was recommended by our son’s occupation therapist. He has dyspraxia and is finding writing difficult at 5yrs old. The speed up book was recommended but research showed that this was for older children. This book is perfect for my 5 yr old, and for a boy that will do anything to get out of picking up a pencil, he actively asks to do his ‘blue book’. As a parents it also helps you to understand writing preferences and how to help them adapt. Really impressed so far.

Good books to improve handwriting but too pricy.
The concepts in the book are good. My son who has poor letter formation liked it initially but soon found the book boring and I had to bribe him with rewards in order to continue working on it. Later on I gave him letter tracing and his letter formation has improved. Would recommend it but too pricy. Would be a good bargain if your child actually works on it.

Great
Great book for developing handwriting. Many children I have used the book with have shown a good improvement in their handwriting in quite a short period of time. They also enjoy the activities
