Fairphone 3 - Sim Free, Black

I'm so, so happy with this phone. I have been using it for close to 3 weeks now it looks and feels extremely well built and is a pleasure to use. I've not had a phone that felt this good in my hand since my old iPhone 4 or the original Moto G. I love the OS which is a clean and snappy stock Android without all the bloat wear etc. The battery life is great too, easily lasting a full day of heavy usage etc, with plenty of juice to spare. I have never been into flashy phones so I don't know how this would compare to a current top of the range iPhone or Samsung etc, but it is infinity more pleasurable to use than my last phone - a Huawei P30 Lite. I really had not expected this to be such a good phone, I am really impressed.I have been trying to reduce my environmental footprint and would like to support products such as this which may help us along the way to a more circular economy. As someone who became politically aware through reading books like No Logo, it is also nice to have a product that has considered other ethical issues around workers within its supply chain, although this is something I know less about.I really did not expect this phone to be of such high quality and to perform as well as it does, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Lovely phone, good resolution on the screen and good quality camera, although a boxy design aesthetically it actually increases ergonomics and grip with a nice flat edge to hold, reminds me of an iPhone 5 shape. Although the specs aren't amazing on paper when compared to high end smart phones coming out, there is no problem with running any of the daily tasks which I require from my smartphone including streaming videos and calls music etc. I would highly recommend if you care about the planet or exploitative labour.

Given the privacy and sustainability goals, this is a solid effort. However, the Fairphone 4 is a MUCH better device in pretty much every respect.

I bought this expecting to be compromising on a few areas for the sake of making an ethical purchase. I was wrong! I'm really really pleased with it - one of the fastest most capable phones I've owned. Its not as sleek design wise as some other phones but in terms of how it works it's probably one of the best phones I've had. Really happy.

Owned 1 year. Stopped charging due to oxidation of internal parts, this occurs as unit is not sealed with glue so easily damaged by humidity. I used it in a normal way and environ, so disappointing. Now on/off switch does not work so sending off for repair again, not very eco if you have to send it to France twice to fix it. And of course be charged for the privilege as phone not used in appropriate way thus negating warranty!

I bought this as a replacement for my old Samsung because the Samsung's battery was no longer holding its charge and couldn't be removed and replaced.I'm very happy with this Fairphone 3+. This is a really good phone and has the bonus of having a replaceable battery. I recommend it to other buyers.

Great battery life, easy to use, the camera could be better, but if there is an upgrade in future at least I won't need to get a whole new phone, just unscrew the old one and fit the new one.

This phone is a great alternative to an iPhone. Minimal packaging which was great and easy to set up. I haven't used an android system in 8+ years but definitely prefer it as it integrates better with my Google apps. The rear camera is excellent quality but the front camera seems a bit grainy but not terrible.
