I put this rather expensive little item on my Christmas list, and my kids went together to purchase it for me as a gift. I had used a similar one at a VRBO rental in Palm Springs, and was fascinated how much better this magnified than a typical round magnifying mirror. It is almost frightening what you can see when using it, my chin hairs look like little creatures poking their heads up! I no longer have to put on my reading glasses to pluck my chin, and I no longer miss any hairs. This mirror is beautiful to touch and look at. It cleans perfectly with Windex and is not tarnishing in any way after daily use for over a month. Due to its convex shape it does collect a bit of dust, but I clean it weekly and it looks fantastic on my vanity. Only downer, not made in the USA.

The 5x magnification was more than needed for a vanity mirror. Ordered to use in Bathroom. Required to hold at eye level or bending over to insert contacts or apply makeup. With 5 x magnification - the distance from counter to face distorted being able to see close up. Wall mount would be preferable for this level of magnification. Quality of product appeared satisfactory but return in 1 day due to comments above.

Still a bit too small. NO lights....it needs them. I am disappointed. Good for travel IF the room/area is WELL lit.
