Great trees
I have five acres with no trees and these were a good option. I picked up four hybrid poplars from Lowe's and planted them which ran me about $30 a piece by growing them from cuttings this gives me more for my money. I look forward to planting them next season .My purchase through CZ grain has exceeded my expectations so far everything that I have ordered has grown and sprouted not a single bum cutting I would highly recommend this company.I ordered 10 hybrid poplars and received 13 all 13 have sprouted. Two of them took a little bit longer but will be put in soil this weekend. 11 are in soil recommended by CZ grain and are thriving.I ordered 10 hybrid Willows all have sprouted and are in the same soil that was recommended by CZ grain.I also ordered two Curly Willow cuttings and received four all four are rooting and leaves are sprouting so far everything is perfect with the purchase, and I am beyond happy. The picture above is one month after receiving the cuttings.Thank you so much CZ grain for fast delivery and viable cuttings.Update: still doing very well. 3rd picture is @ 4 months. 6 transplanted so far in 7 gal grow bags since they were outgrowing thier pots.

Don’t buy! Not really bare root.
The first shipment I received had no roots! These are sold as BARE ROOT trees.I’ve made hundreds of cutting in the past of hybrid trees so I know what I’m doing. But these are shipped as just small 7-9” cut trees without roots so the time only takes to ship in the package they’re without water and they die. The first batch died and I complained about the shipping and no roots. Got another package and they never grew either. Even upon delivery I immediately placed them in water (like I know to do) and as they state in their paper instructions. But they should at least get the cuttings established with some roots and a wet paper towel for shipping. Nope just some fresh cuttings that die due to no water/no roots in shipping package. 👎

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS - GET GREAT TREES
Bought a pack of 12 of these babies a couple of years ago. Two of them reached partial maturity and died, but probably my fault because the rest are all thriving and some are over 20 feet tall.Yes, they are shipped as STICKS. Some reviewers went into a state of abject panic over this. JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I placed the sticks in a bucket, and added enough to cover about 3" of the bottom of the sticks. Within ten days or so, they started popping roots. I moved them to staging pots until the root balls were well developed, then popped them right into the ground. They are HARDY. We live in North Dakota. Extreme temperature swings, battering wind, punishing snow and ice. These trees have thrived through it all. Small animals do love to eat the soft bark off of juvenile trees, so make sure to surround or wrap them to prevent small animals from eating them up.Simply the easiest, simplest, no-brainer, fast growing shade tree on Amazon.

Less than half started
I bought two sets of ten each and after a month only 7 have started.I contacted customer service, I emailed them pictures and I was told give them another two weeks. I got a few more started at that point. Not even near the 20 I purchased.

Instant Backyard Forest
These trees came as small sticks. Every one of them is now over 10 feet tall (two years). Excellent for creating a backyard forest in a very short time.

Not worth the effort
I purchased several of these and followed instructions correctly. After planting these trees last year, Out of 30÷ trees only 3 are growing about an inch from ground. Extremely disappointed. So much time spent getting them to root, then planting, watering and nothing happened.

Started off strong, no survivors after planting.
The media could not be loaded. Updated ReviewWhat started off pretty exciting and promising turned doom and gloom and left me feeling pretty bummed out that none of the trees survived planting. If there’s one thing that I did during this entire process is, I followed the directions to the T and that includes how I rooted them in the bucket Down to watching the video on the product page on how to plant the trees. However, even with the stringent attention to the details, none of them survived. I live in Phoenix where the weather is nice year round so I didn’t think that I would have any issue with them growing. Looks like I’m going to have to go back to the chopping block to figure out what to do for some privacy and shade on a happier personal note. I had a really successful winter harvest with lots of broccoli, radishes beats, bell peppers, and tomatoes so I’m thankful for that. If anyone has any recommendations, I’m open to suggestions.Original ReviewI’m very pleased so far with the hybrid trees that I purchased I think that they are going to be a wonderful addition to my backyard and provide all of the shade and privacy that I’m looking for. When I first got them, I was a little skeptical because it did look just like I was sent twigs But the cuttings really do grow into healthy looking little trees. I ordered a pack of 10 and received 12 of them so that was pretty cool and I would say that I’ve had extremely great success with eight of them while four of them are still growing a bit. Key to this is going to be patience while waiting for them to root and grow foliage. It’s recommended toput it in a bucket for two weeks. I’ve had them in for six weeks with a grow lamp and saw some really good success from it. I will update you all after I plant them And give an update to the success of their growth.

Not all 10 trees will make it
After having the cuttings in water for about 4 weeks I planted them in pots, they all had roots and leaves but maybe the half of them survived. I changed the water regularly while in the house and watered them every morning outside. Beside that it was raining a lot so they didn’t dry out. Maybe I have some bugs in the potting soil or the soil wasn’t good enough. But the ones surviving are growing very good.
