THE LENGTH OF TIME A CARTRIDGE LASTS DEPENDS ON SEVERAL FACTORS. THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE IS: **The number of times the cartridge is cleaned and how cleaned, should not be power washed. **In season the cartridge should be cleaned every 4-5 weeks. **If the pool has a lot of debris or algae, the cartridge will need to be cleaned every day until the pool is clear. If this is not done the cartridge will collapse. **The condition of the pool when installed, whether opening the pool for the swimming season or the amount of debris, algae, or pollen. **The length of the swimming season. **The water chemistry of the pool. **Whether the pool is inside a screened in area. **The number of swimmers, suntan lotion, pets in the pool, etc. **The outlying area around the pool if treated for insecticides, fertilizers, etc. **The chemicals used to treat the pool; chemicals used to remove phosphates break down the filter media.
