Beginner or expert, very udeful
If you love to knit. This is for you.If you are learning to knit, this is for you.If all you know so far is knit one, purl one, then this is for you.If you just want to see the pretty variable patterns you can achieve just by knitting and purling, don’t wait, because this is certainly for you.I’ve enjoyed doing these various patterns whilst knitting a blanket just to keep my hands busy when watching TV or catching up on my fav book tubers.Handy little book. Glad I bought it

Good instructions badly presented
This collection of just knit and purl patterns is perfect for me, the unconfident knitter. I've been knitting scarves for a charity and adding texture with these patterns to what is just a long narrow strip makes an amazing difference and makes me feel skilful. The description in both word and chart form is very clear and helpful, whichever form works best for you. But... I do have a criticism about how the book has been put together. The pages should be numbered with odd on the right and even on the left, that's just a publishing rule and it's confusing to find your way around the book when that is wrong. Also the small photos at the beginning of each section are not in the same order as the more detailed following instruction pages, nor do all of the following pages have a corresponding small picture. It's just a shame that the production of the book has spoiled what is a great idea. And it wasn't cheap either!

Clever and clear instructions
I love Kristen’s new book which has just become available to UK knitters. The instructions are really clear and are accompanied by a photo of a sample for each pattern. I would definitely recommend this book.Janet Harris, from Standish, Wigan.

Hmmm....
Lots of different patterns to try all using plain and purl stitches. But, as a relative beginner, I expected some advice on size of needles/ weight of wool/ number of stitches to cast on for a particular project (eg blanket squares). Nothing like this is included. I know that there are YouTube videos to visit, but having just spent almost £15 on the book I wouldn’t have expected to have to do this.

Such a useful little book
I bought two copies of this book - one for myself and one for my friend. We both love knitting, and find so helpful the fact that the designs, which vary from quite simple to more complicated, have all the calculations done for the various patterns, so that casting on the right number of stitches for a project is made so much easier. I recommend this book for beginners and intermediate level knitters, but I think that more advanced knitters would still enjoy it.

Great present for knitters
This is such a great little book both for beginners and old timers like myself! I have taken up knitting again during lockdown for the first time in over 30 years so I thought it would be good to try some new stitches. Very simply laid out with great photos.
