It's okay but save your self the time and listen to this quick summary of the book. 1. Always look your best- have your makeup and hair done, (the whole nines) daily. 2. Do not fart or poop in front of your husband. 3. Let your husband think he is right. 4. Cook daily, even if extremely tired. 5. Put out at husbands request even if tired.

I like Melissa Gorga and her husband as well as her kids and although she does bring some good points up in this book about how to make your marriage work, I find some of the things that she writes ridiculous! Treat your husband like a king and he will treat you like a queen. Doesn't always work out that way! Certainly you should treat each other with love and respect but if you treat your spouse like royalty he/she may expect that all the time and not give it back in return. Also having sex 3-5 nights a week is just not realistic for even the most happily married of couples. And you have a right to say no to your spouse's demands for sex once in a while. Saying no every now and then does not necessarily make a man cheat. I had to bypass the chapter on makeup and skincare. Boring! Melissa wants to pretend that her advice is appropriate for every couple in the world and this world is not a one size fits all world.

I had read a lot of negative comments about this book. I personally ADORE Melissa and Joe Gorga. Of course I wanted to read this book when I heard about it! In all honesty, I love the honesty that Melissa brings to it. I especially love that there are sections where even her husband writes to the readers! It's beautiful to read both their personalities and their own take on situations. The only part I didnt read was about make-up and clothes, only because I only wear eyelinear and I dress for comfort. But I am sure other would appreciate the make-up and clothes advice! Other than that, I really admire this book and I feel that I got to know Melissa and Joe on an even more personal level. Congrats to you, Melissa! 😊

Sooooo I do watch RHONJ and I bought this book on my Kindel to see what all of the hype was about. I literally finished the book in 2 evenings and seriously thought to my self when I was finished "WTF DID I JUST READ???" This book is complete crap and I'm so angry that I wasted $11.00 on it (Kindel price). I felt so awkward while I was reading it.... She really talks about some weird things like serving your husband like a king, allowing your husband to scream and yell at you at home so he doesn't yell at business partners, and having sex with your husband ANYTIME he wants or else he will cheat on you. Seriously WTF. How is this good marriage advice? She also talks about her husbands bad temper and how one time he flew off the handle and was beating their baby's high hair and he broke the tray. Uhhhhhhhhh does this sound like a healthy marriage?? The basis of this book was Melissa talking about how overly jealous she and her husband are and therefore they NEVER go anywhere without each other period..... and how sexually active they are and have sex all the time whether or not she wants to. Also another weird thing she wrote about int he book is how they will allow their 2 sons their own entrance into the house and they can come and go as they please and have WHOMEVER they want in their rooms but their daughter will not have those rights. It sounds odd to me that they will promote sexual promiscuity to their 2 sons but keep the daughter on lockdown....... Makes me feel sorry for the boys girlfriends parents!! Anyway.... Do not waste your hard earned money on this book..... It is absolutely NOT Marriage Advice whatsoever.... If you need a marriage advice book please buy a book by a licensed Psychiatrist or Therapist because Love Itallian Style is not what it was advertised as.I will say I enjoyed seeing pics in the book of their kids, the kids are adorable! Other than that I would rate this book Zero stars.

I would give this book 0 stars if Amazon let me since 1 stars is awfully generous! This book is God awful! Sexist, shallow, and disgusting. So mad I wasted $15 on this book- thought about burning it but hate to burn $15, otherwise I would lol

One star rating is a gift. Really there are no words for how bad this "advice" book is. It's really sad in this day and age that someone would make a blanket statement that all women want to be dominated and if they say no to sex, their husband should turn them around and rip their clothes off. Not to mention what a turn-off it is to hear that a father of 3 has never changed a diaper or fed his babies and that he refuses to clean up any spill that happens at home because he works all day. But all of that is ok because he is constantly telling her how hot she is so therefore will never cheat! I feel sad for her and truly hope that readers are smart enough to see this ridiculous piece of trash for what it is. Melissa, I'm sure you are laughing all the way to the bank (but make sure you come back home in time so that - God Forbid! - Joe doesn't come home to an empty house and refuse to speak to you for two weeks like when you got your lips done. Oh and make sure you give yourself enough time to go to the bathroom before he comes home too!)

what a waste of time, boring and dull and rubbish. would not waste my money reading this book.what planet does this lady live on?the same content is repeated so many times through out the book making it very boring indeed.

What a lovely ready, not over pretentious but a frank and true insight into their love and marriage. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Melissa and Joe for sharing xx

Great fun! If you are a Real Housewives fan then this is entertaining, light and frothy. Like a Margarita, parts of it to be taken with a pinch of salt!!

Great book would have liked it in hard book

Enjoy this book, from what I've seen of melissa on housewives you can tell she wrote this book, I liked that joe had his input and I'm glad what they do works for them. Each to their own & nine years later they are still happily married and no one has cheated.

I really loved this book , no matter what anyone says it's right on the money . I really feel like this is the way to a very happy marriage :)))

As a huge fan of RHONJ I was very excited to learn more about what works for Joe & Melissa's marriage. I love learning about relationships and I really idolize the passion and fierce love Joe and Melissa display for each other. I would absolutely say their marriage is my relationship goal! I purchased this book at a great price.. $10.99 for hard cover and $6.99 for shipping. I was very happy with the price. The shipping, however, not so impressive. This book took around 3 weeks to arrive when I usually receive items from Amazon within 1-7 business days. I'm really enjoying reading this book. I feel like I've really gotten to know Melissa so much better than I have just watching the show and her insight on Marriage is very positive and admirable. The old-school values may not appeal to everyone, but I agree with her outlook on these tactics. Everything in life differs based on your perception. If you have a positive outlook and focus on the good, everything seems so different than when you were just looking at the negative (I'm a huge believer of the Law of Attraction) Although there were a few mis-spelled words in the book I think Melissa did a great job telling her story and I 100% recommend this book.

Good lessons in this book but not written well.

I really enjoyed this book, there were some bits I didn't totally agree with, but what works for one doesn't always work for all! I think Melissa has a very good view on achieving balance when one of you is the bread-winner & the other the home-marker. These are both important roles that require support from the other & the type of support one needs is not exactly the same as the other. She talks about making the partnership work & not letting ego be more important than your marriage, I've seen this criticised as weak, but actually think it is a very zen approach. I don't believe she was saying it more the wife's job to make the husband happy, than vice versa, I think she was saying that holding out on making your husband happy because you feel unappreciated won't make you feel any better & definitely won't make the situation any better. She emphasises communication, empathy & understand, which, I think we can all agree, help any relationships.As a young woman approaching marriage, I liked her down-to-earth approach & tone.
