Very happy with this
I'm a retired machinist and getting into woodturning. I've used some of the wax polish in a stick that you can buy but they are very expensive. So when I found this I thought I'd try getting it and a pound of bees wax then make my own sticks. This Carnauba wax works very well by itself for polishing turned pieces. If I give a piece a coating of plain bees wax then some of the Carnauba it brings it up to nice high gloss. I used just a simple piece of an old worn out t-shirt and the cotton blend works very well for heating and working the wax into the wood. I'll definitely be back for some more.

good friction polish for lathe work
I have used this to put a coat on some bowls and paperweights turned with my wood lathe. It puts a real nice shine on properly sanded hardwood. My best results have been with Ceylon Satinwood sanded to 500 grit, followed by several coats of min-wax 409 finish and a final coat from the Carnauba stick. A little warning: I have used friction polish before but never with this kind of wax. When applied with a shop-weight paper towel, it heats up much faster than sandpaper or some other finishes applied with a towel. The blisters on my hands are gone now, but it was a painful lesson. This stick will last a long time.

Carnauba Wax
This is a good wax. It lasts for hundreds of turned pieces. Just don't drop it as it will break into a bunch of pieces, all still usable but not as easy to hold.

Great for larger projects where you can use buffing machines.
This is a great wax for larger projects where you can use buffing wheels and machines. With some effort it will give you an amazing shine. If that is what you work on and you have the machinery this will do a fine job. That being said, it simply didn't work for me and smaller projects which is what I work on most of the time. It's too cumbersome to work with, hard to apply, messy/crumbly (I have small pieces of this stuff everywhere so make sure you are running your vacuum) and almost impossible to buff by hand. I typically use a Dremel and some buffing wheels, but still didn't get the results that I was hoping for. For me I found it to be labor intensive with mediocre results at best. Again, I'm talking specifically about small woodworking projects here. I'll continue to use my old wax and save this for my larger projects where I can use my buffing machine. YMMV.

Very nice wax
I use this wax for bowls on a lathe, goes on nicely and buffs out great. I like the fact that carnauba is not sticky like beeswax. It does take serious speed on a lathe to melt the wax, but it just a little more speed than for beeswax. IMO better than beeswax and doesnt attract dust or dirt.

I love this wax!!
Ok so I got this to use on things I make with my lathe because I did not want to use a varnish or chemical sealer on natural wood. I have tired other waxes like bees wax but the Carnauba wax is so much better than bees wax!! It is not sticky and it is so easy to use! If you want a natural finish that looks great get this wax!(Picture is 4 bottle openers sealed with Carnauba wax that I turned on the lathe for some friends and family)

Well worth acquiring!
For a wood turner or carver or a wood worker in general protecting your finished work is a must. Making your own wax finishes is a money saving task. This one does the job.

The real deal
It's the real deal, but may be difficult for some tasks. If you want to polish some wood great. If you want to polish bathroom chrome fixtures i have found this to be nearly impossible to do (you can do it, though, I did). The bar is pretty stiff as well. For other jobs where this won't work, I'd suggest Carnauba Wax 5-1/2" x 2" x 5/8"  - this stuff is the real deal, but somehow processed to be much easier to handle for work in tight spots or otherwise hard to polish items.
