wonderful ending for the trilogy
Great conclusion for Natalya & Zoya. Now I guess we need to wait for a trilogy about when they team up with Pip & Ishmael? Or maybe something a bit longer to fill in a few more stanyears rather than jumping into that missing piece? Great characters and great development of the story line across all of the series

“Home Run” is a Home Run
In the third and final (?) Smuggler’s Tale, Zoya’s coming home after five long years of tooling around in Toe Hold space... and all bets are off in short order. Our master troubleshooters are faced with a disaster - a smelting facility has gone silent and Nats and Zee go to see why and discover there is no smelting facility - just a cloud of expanding debris and disabled ships. Not only do they have to figure out what happened, Zoya is tasked to rebuild the facility, which proves to be difficult because this story wouldn’t be exciting if there wasn’t someone trying kill Natalya and Zoya, oh, like the surviving pirates that nuked the facility Ina failed plot to seize it.Add in the mysterious Port Lumimeux and a familiar name to readers of Dr. Lowell’s books - no other than Chief Engineer Dr. Margaret Stevens who seems to be in charge of a facility that, as it turns outs, is run by another familiar name: Carstairs and, yes, Pip makes a “cameo” appearance as does Natalya’s father, Demetri, who hasn’t been seen in a coon’s age (but now we know why). What follows is a mess that only our intrepid heroines can unravel, made even more difficult by the untimely and unexpected death of Zoya’s beloved grandmother and the driving force behind Usoko Mining... which now belongs to Zoya, who is reluctant to take her inheritance and run the company as her grandparents wanted. It’s the perfect end to this trilogy and I’m thinking it’s a safe bet we have not heard the last of Natalya and Zoya as they begin a new endeavor - running the custom built Barbell gifted to Natalya, not only to haul metals where needed for Usoko Mining... but to get their engineering and second mate tickets respectively as well.Read the book... then read the series again; you won’t regret it.

Silly but fun
8/10 There's all kinds of preposterous scenarios and ludicrous illogic here but if you let that go with a wink and a nod it's an entertaining read from beginning to end. The characters are well written and it's easy to become fully invested in their lives quite quickly.

Great series....
The continuing chapter keeps holding me along the story and characters involved. Even jumping into an individual book of the series is a complete story on its own. Enjoyed my time reading.

Touchstone
When I've gotten tired of wading through too many new story offerings , I find myself going back to a special place to restore my faith in sci_-fi. That place is Powell's World. He is the master craftsman who brings his characters to life with grace and beauty, who tells each story with sensible, heartfelt realities. His people become my people and I would wish they kept living and growing and laughing, with the rest of us.My balance is restored now and I'll keep going , hoping for a new story.Tock On .Dave Tucker

Home Run - A wonderful new tale from Nathan Lowell
Home Run wraps up the Smugglers Tales from the Golden Age of the Solar Clipper Series from Nathan Lowell. The story is one of adventure and friendship in the far future. With more action than the typical Nathan Lowell book, the story is a must for fans of the series.

From Lightening Speed to Slow Going
Best Practices, Martial Arts, and Geek Squads all mix with intense loving laughter and suspense. It’s a hard-and-slow read in rejiggering the engineering sections, but a fast jump in coffee carafes, mess decks and boarding parties!I think I finally got enough of a glimpse in how the ships are designed, but our human nature, coupled with Nat’s and Zee’s long-standing business building hand-me-down nuggets, proved to be the end game of a great series in speed reading. Plenty of good ore in this core! Carry on Sars!

A Very Human Story
Like much of Lowell’s work, this book is less about space travel and more about two people trying to figure out what to do with their lives. They just happen to live in space. My personal favorite of the Smuggler’s Tales.

Another great run with nathalia and zoya
I come back to Nathan Lowell ever time lokking for that comfort read on space living when the problems are not full on wars but how to live together the best we can.Home run is just that : found family, working together and deciding what is best for oneself instead of what people think you should be.

Always enjoyable
I’ve listened to and then read Nathan’s stories for many years. I keep coming back because the stories and the characters about Normal people doing normal things - albeit in space. There’s no evil aliens or gigantic space battles - just an enjoyable story.
