Big time deshedding tool!
I asked our vet if this was any good or not. She said "some people love it, some don't." We have three long hair cats who shed extensively, so I thought I would give it a try. Expensive, but it truly works. (Our short hair doesn't like it at all.) While we usually groom them with a comb and a "wire rake", this deshedder gets three, four times the fur in the same amount of time. After the first "treatment" of one of them I showed the bucket of fur to my wife (filled up a lunch-pail sized container), who was astonished. So while the cats still have long fur, they don't have near the volume of it, which means there are far fewer tangles in the daily grooming, and (my wife and I agree) fewer fur balls being thrown up as a result of the self-grooming that they do. (A common problem for us, but we think we detect a noticeable drop.)While two of the cats come eagerly to the wire brush, they're not so fond if this (the third one hates everything) but none of them are thrilled with this, but after a couple minutes the job is done and the house is better for it. Less fur deposited on couches and beds, less fur flying through the air, fewer fur balls on the rugs.Put us in the camp of "We love it." I mentioned it to the vet, who says "Well I don't, but I told you that some people do."

This thing works great on both of my cats
This thing works great on both of my cats!! they have medium length hair and one of them sheds like crazy. Since I use this, the shedding is so much better. And she loves it. She actually comes to me just to be brushed and she is not what I would consider a social cat.

Rapid removal of excess hair with no pulling or pain
Our cat has a very thick coat and he (and we) have been plagued by hairballs this spring. Despite continual brushing with another device, the cat has vomited at least once a week since the weather turned warmer. This thing is amazing. A huge amount of hair was removed with just a few strokes and with no yiping. We will see if the hairball problem is solved or if we just end up with a bald cat!!!

not easy to clean
The "push" part of the brush does not go all the way to the end of the bristles. it does not make it easy to remove hair on the brush

No more cat hair in my food
I used this product, after it was recommended to me by a friend, on my 5 month old Siberian kitten having his first seasonal molt. We had cat hair everywhere, just disgusting. The brush I usually use was no help. I combed him daily with the Furminator for three days, followed by the flea comb suggested by another reviewer. Perfect. No more shedding. Be sure to purchase the correct size Furminator for your cat's size and hair length, as it is designed to reach the undercoat. My cat is long-haired and weighs 5 lbs. and this size is perfect for him.

Messy, but LOVE IT!
I bought this for my long-haired cat, but my medium-hair cat actually likes it better. The long-haired girly is still quite people-shy, so I'm not sure if this is the fault of the product. She absolutely loves it on her neck mane, but can't stand it elsewhere. The older, more relaxed medium-haired cat adores it. He never liked being brushed all that much, but he will sit for HOURS with this thing! The one issue I have is that the brush gets filled very quickly and the hair removal "device" doesn't always work, meaning I have to use both hands to clean it out (tricky, especially when I'm trying to calm down the skitty kitty). Still, a minor complaint. Definitely one of the best cat brushes I have ever owned!

Fiona loves it
I recently adopted a Himalayan cat who sheds more than any cat I have ever had (off white). She did not like the little wire brush I had so thought I would try. This really does get here undercoat; and she seems to like although she is tiny I have to be careful not the bear down very heavily as it is a pretty heavy head. It's easy to handle and I would recommend! It also really removes 10 times as much hair as my last tool.
