Movie Tarot: A Hero's Journey in 78 Cards

I preordered this a long time ago, so I was lucky enough to receive my deck pretty much as soon as it came out and I absolutely love it. All of the art is this beautiful blend of the RWS card imagery and the iconic movie characters. Not only that, but the art really focuses on the faces and the identities of these folks with characteristic detail, great posing, and a real eye for the use of color and tone. I'd previously ordered the TV Tarot, which aimed to do a similar thing, and found the art seriously lacking but this is a gorgeous deck and every choice is just spot on perfect for all of the characters represented with a good mix of genres, eras, and a real focus on the full identity of the person shown and how they relate to the card.As mentioned in another review, this is a deck with only somewhat illustrated minor cards (no movie characters and simple but still useful creative touches to help with interpretation). Where some people find this a disadvantage, my love of Marseille-style reading definitely sees this as a plus. The majors and the court cards are spot on and I'm glad they focused on getting those right and let the pips be more flexible. This makes this deck much more of a useful tool for me as I feel I can use the majors to really 'flavor' the reading and then have the minors give me context as opposed to having a overload of stories crowding my mind from different movies muddying up the reading.The book has just enough to be helpful without pushing too much interpretation and while there were only a few little deck-specific spreads provided, I really loved the three card and definitely will be adding it to my reading. Card stock was very solid and the cards feel nice in my hand while shuffling and seem like they'll be pretty sturdy.All in all, a great deck, a great little package, and an amazing price for what you're getting.

I am kinda in love with this deck. The characters they chose for the Major Arcana, as well as the face cards for the Minor Arcana are perfect. This deck is great for a movie buff, but also... it's just beautiful.Although... I would have preferred that the suit cards in the Minor Arcana would have had images besides the suit representatives (5 coins on the 5 of coins card, for example), but other than that... these are sweet and well thought out.***I do have one other tiny complaint... the book doesn't say who is on the ACE cards?? If you know who they are, please leave a comment?! I know the Ace of Swords is Brad Pitt... but what movie? And I know the Ace of Wands is Bruce Lee, but, again... what movie? And I have NO IDEA who the Ace of Cups is or who the Ace of Coins is, nor what movies they're from... All other characters ARE listed in the book, including the actor/actress and what movie they are from... Although, I didn't need the book for *most* of them, lol.Also, cardstock is made of a sturdy, quality material that will last.You can see a full flip through of this deck on my YT channel

I love this deck and especially the art! I wish the back (of cards) didn't have identifying symbols/words for upward/reversed; the face/art side of the cards are perfect. I bought this deck twice. I bought it for myself and ended up gifting it to a dear friend. I missed having my own and bought it again. My only concern has to do with the packaging/secure wrap/new seal of the deck. The deck looks like it was put in a paper mailer from someone's bookshelf. The box did not have any sort of secure wrapping or tape or anything; I'm not sure how the packing works but the item itself is not easy to handle without dropping the cards everywhere. The cards were bent and disorganized as well as damage to the box. I counted all the cards to make sure there are there. The deck I purchased along with it was completely wrapped/sealed as new.

The deck I received was clearly used, as the box was scratched and banged up inside and out, but the cards themselves are in good condition so I will keep. Beautiful fund deck- can't wait to use!

I have a flip through on my YT channel: EsmeoftheWest if you want to see the cards live. I just bought this deck and I really enjoy the artwork. I am loving the characters that were chosen for the major and minor arcana. I haven't worked with it yet (too new) to give a reading review. Two things: if you are a beginner at tarot, please know that the pip cards are all suit symbols. This means that you may have to read the book instead of using symbology and intuition. Also, neither my deck nor the box was wrapped in plastic. Luckily are my cards were intact. Other than that I am pleased with my purchase.

I admit I know nothing about reading Tarot cards, but someone I know has gotten me into collecting beautiful and fun sets. I kind of have a problem with collecting pretty things LOL! This one does not disappoint, it came in perfect condition and it satisfies my love of pretty artwork and movie references!

I like the deck, I know a lot of people complained about it but it’s hard to find novelty decks so I’m glad I got it. I guess the card stock is a little thin but I think it’s a nice deck to add to a collection and I think it’s a good deck to use as an add on or some bonus cards. I think it’s cool. It also comes with a nice size colorful book.

Eu amei muito as cartas de tarôt e as ilustrações. A escolha dos personagens foram muito boas tbm.

This product is intended as a gift, so I did not open the cellophane package that the cards were in. But I did see a sampling of the tarot cards in the Cineplex magazine -- and they rock!
