TrackR bravo - Silver (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I am constantly misplacing my keys, I researched this and the other major player of this type item. I decided with some trepidation to try the trackr based primarily on the replaceable battery. The trackr arrived the next day in its simple blister along with cat treats for the pets. I opened the blister, and reviewed the single sheet instruction. Downloaded the free app. and attempted to make the trackr function. It was difficult to pair but finally did. Then almost immediatly after the fob seemed to stop working.I opened the battery compartment per the trouble shooting guide. The device still didn't see to be working correctly. I then reviewed the troubleshooting guide and the next logical step would be to assume (dangerous) the battery had failed.The app says to contact service if the batter is dead on arrival so I did. My query was unceremoniously received and I earned "place in que" for help....lucky me!I decided, since I intened to use this little guy for its intended purpose I'll just go buy a battery, and let trackr send me one or however they intend to settle this as soon as my spot gets called in the "que" (yay!!!)$6 and a run to my local Walgreens I'd scored a prized 1620 energizer fresh button cell!Returning home and hopeful that my lucky number in the customer lottery might be drawn... I check my messages and emails... Nope! But I did feel confident that trackr was going to help me soon!!!!!!I popped the battery blister with great hope that the trackr bravo would soon be back among the living and ready to assist me in key location at a moments notice!!!! I swapped the batteries and closed the battery compartment and looked at the app again where the the spinning icon of nothingness continued its sad dance of no communication. I picked up the little black lifeless fob and attempted its other trick of making the phone chirp if the button on the key fob is squeezed. Again I was met with silence. I squeezed tighter hoping that I was just using an incorrect rookie grip!?!?!?! The tighter i squeezed I was finally met with the joyous green speaker of connection on the app screen. I was excited! It was going to work! I relaxed my forceful grip just slightly and poof! The speaker disappeared only to be replaced with the dreaded spinning non connected icon of disappointment!After squeezing a few more times and achieving connection I determined it was the battery compartment or some internal gizmo beyond my technical abilities as a novice trackr owner! Alas I recall seeing a "live chat" offer on my still standing email acknowledgment of my belived battery issue.Sure enough! Live chat for help m-f till 5pm pacific. It was just after 3pm! Perfect. I headed to the full site and found "live chat" I opened the chat with great anticipation that I would soon be helped! I sent my detailed info and issue to live chat and waited! A few minutes later I learned "live chat" was neither, live nor chatty!!!!.... How could this be? These fine folks crowd funded this item. They based the very soul of this company on being accessible to those looking for them online... Guess not now?I tried to like this item! I wanted to enjoy this item! I need this item! But I do not support companies that mislead their customers. Ever! If you say you're there till 5pm pac you better be there! Hours in service "que" leads me to believe either a) there's a lot of people just like me who are suffering with problems and disappointment with their trackr items or b) trackr really just doesn't value their customers time and lack a genuine passion for making the customer successful? Either way I have no desire to continue this relationship. Bye bye little black bravo. Back into the shipping seas you go. And adios Trackr... We tried... You earned the minimum one star out of amazons pitty and lack of a zero rating!

When I was a little girl, I had a messy room. My mom used to try and coax me into cleaning it by saying, “Think how much easier it will be to find everything.” The only problem with that argument was that I already knew where everything was. Somehow, I could always find my way through all that stuff to get to what I was looking for. Unfortunately, that keen sense of navigation didn’t follow me completely into adulthood. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve set down my phone or keys and have not clue where they are. Most of the time, they are right under my nose, but other times, I find them in odd places like the freezer. I was instantly intrigued by tracking/GPS devices for stuff when they started emerging a few years ago. I’ve been able to test out a few different models and today, I find myself with the TrackR.TrackR is a coin-sized device that is meant to attach to your belongings so that you can ping it and easily be able to find your items when they become lost. The anodized aluminum construction and sleek design make this a very desirable tracking device.Some of the features of TrackR include:Distance Indicator – displays the distance between you and your itemsItem Ringer – ring your misplaced keys so you can track them down even when they are hiding between the couch cushionsPhone Finder – ring your phone with TrackR to find itCrowd GPS – bounces a single off of other TrackR users and sends you GPS updates so you can track down your itemSeparation Alert – Sends a notification to your phone when your item gets too far awayFIRST IMPRESSIONSWhen I first received TrackR, I was impressed by its size. Like I said, I’ve tested out other tracking devices and have found them to be bulky and a bit cumbersome to keep on my key ring. TrackR is only about the size of a quarter in diameter and about an eighth of a inch thick. I also noticed soon after taking it out of the package that TrackR did not come with any sort of instructions. The packaging is very slim and minimalistic so, I can understand why there isn’t a bulky user guide, but a simple quick start guide would be nice. The app does walk you through set-up pretty quickly and easily.TESTINGTrackR, like other tracker devices, has a very quick set-up process. It essentially just has to connect to your phone via Bluetooth. Once it does, you use the app to ping your TrackR device, or to ding your phone in reverse. One feature that really stands out to me about TrackR versus other devices is the ability to make custom alarm sounds. The default alarm is a very high pitched squeal. Another one of our writers was supposed to complete the review of this product, but he has some hearing loss and is unable to hear high pitches, so he handed it off to me. Fortunately, TrackR gives you the option to use music tracks that are currently on your phone as the alarm. This makes it not only easy to distinguish your TrackR from others around you, but it also makes it possible for alarms to be heard even by those who are hard of hearing.Another feature that I really like is the Silent Mode. The Separation Alert works really, REALLY well. While testing, I took my phone into a conference room at work and left my keys on my desk. The alarm went off on both my keys and my phone to let me know that the two had been separated from each other. Well, I knew where my keys were so it was a little annoying. For times like this, when you know where your belongings are, you can enable Silent Mode. This disables the sound on separation alarms until you turn this mode off again. It can be very helpful.CONCLUSIONSTrackR is a superior tracking device to others in its category based on its size, style, and customization. I have found it to be easy to use and love that it doesn’t crowd my keychain. TrackR has some pretty awesome additional opportunities for use like animal tracking, or even human tracking. You could easily clip this to a collar or clothes as well as bags, and keychains. Dieses Produkt entspricht nicht annähernd dem was die die Werbung verspricht. Ist fast schon als Betrug zu werten.Meine Empfehlung: Aus dem Sortiment nehmen.

Ich persönlich muss sagen, dass es in meiner Umgebung - und das ist Wien - leider noch zu wenig User gibt, damit das System super laufen würde, aber der Ansatz ist ganz gut umgesetzt.Weiteres Minus ist der Preis...!

Bluetooth muss dauerhaft angeschaltet sein, da sonst keine Verbindung. Die Batterie lebt selbst bei Nichtbenutzung und Marke (Neukauf) nur wenige Wochen = Folgekosten. Geräusch nur bei ruhiger Umgebung zu hören. Fehlkauf.
