Psoriasis Miracle
I'm amazed. I had pretty bad scalp psoriasis, I've tried so many different products. I ordered this brand, this size, on January 21st 2017 so over 6 months ago and I still haven't finished the bottle! I use it 3-4 times a week too. I'm never going back to store bought shampoo. My scalp is so much better now, I can actually wear black shirts and sit on other people's couches without worrying about dandruff. I logged in today to see how long ago I ordered this Bottle because it's still not gone and I was shocked that it was over 6 months ago. My guess is because you apply less shampoo than normal because it spreads and foams up and moisturizers so well. Better than my salons shampoo even. I'm obsessed! Way worth the $12. Here are my before and after pics, first pic taken in January & second pic taken just now in early August. It did not take this long to change so much, I just never took an after pic until today.

Give it time to work!
I've had psoriasis on the back of my neck/scalp on and off since my teen years and I wear black... all the time. So flakes are a very big deal. This year, I decided I was finally going to find the right shampoo (after giving up on SO many). I tried a few different shampoos over the course of a year and must say that I really like this one the best as it has cleared up all my flakes and leaves my hair looking great (I mean--really great!). I've tried a number of the most popular brands and if they worked on my scalp, they left my hair feeling just awful. I try to buy things that are all natural and I really like that coal tar is a very natural (albeit smelly) product. I do a lot of research before settling on a product and I felt confident that this one would hit all my marks. After the first washing with this shampoo, my hair was fluffy, soft, bouncy, and hadn't looked so good in a very long time... except--I still had white flakes all over my shoulders! I admit I was more than a bit upset. I was so excited to have found a great shampoo for my hair, but not my scalp. I thought maybe I hadn't left it on long enough (as per the label directions) so I tried again. I had better results the second time but not great. So, back to doing research... and then I stumbled upon a great article which explained that due to the amount of coal tar in the shampoo, results might not be immediate. So I decided to give it two weeks and I am so glad I did! After two full weeks of using the shampoo, I am flake free! I highly recommend this shampoo--but most importantly, follow the directions and give it a couple of weeks to work.

Miracle in a Bottle
I've have scalp psoriasis and have been battling dandruff for years. I have tried all sorts of shampoos and products (both high end and inexpensive), I have tried home remedies, even eliminated certain foods from my diet - nothing seemed to help. I have been using this shampoo for a month and I have NO dandruff or itching on my scalp!! I noticed a difference after 1 week of using it, after 3 weeks, the dandruff was gone. Another thing I noticed, I have always had oily scalp/hair and it has decreased quite a bit since using this shampoo. I hope they never discontinue this amazing shampoo. I truly recommend it!!

Scalp savior
I rarely write reviews of products but this is one product that I feel deserves it. I was never able to figure out exactly what was going on with my scalp, but it was always itchy, irritated, red and scaly. Nothing I tried had helped it and for years I just suffered with having to constantly scratch my scalp. I ordered this shampoo around 6 months ago and am currently on my second bottle and it saved my scalp. I am 97% free from itchy and the scales are all gone. It’s the only thing that helped and I am so happy I took a chance and purchased. It started helping with a few shampoos and within a couple months had done most of the work and now I just use to maintain a clear scalp. I hope it works well for other people suffering too!

Miracle in a bottle!
I have dealt with the itch and flake of psoriasis for just over a year now. My Dad insisted that COAL TAR would help, but the idea of a petroleum product on my scalp simply turned me off. I tried everything found on store shelves, and a trip to my doctor resulted in a scrip for a $300 bottle of shampoo (which I never had filled). I went back to my Dad's advice and researched COAL TAR and found SCALP 18 by ARTNATURALS. After one week of use, the itch and flakes had lessened. After one month of daily use, the itch and flakes are gone! It has the feel and lather of a salon shampoo. It does have a slight smell of petroleum, however once you rinse your hair, the smell is gone. I now use it every third day for maintenence.

DISCLAIMER: I AM GOING TO SOUND LIKE AN INFOMERCIAL
I have struggled with psoriasis since I have been about 10 years old. When I turned about 15 it started to appear on my head and I was really self-conscious about it. I have gone through phases in my life where it has been only small patches and other phases where it has taken up to a third of my scalp. I am now 25 and prefer having my hair short and it has gotten so bad that I just have lived with the constant dandruff and tested about a dozen shampoos ranging from natural, organic, t-gel, acidic and all other types of shampoos. I used this shampoo without much hope and about a week later, I could already tell there was a massive change in my scalp. I don't even know if I have psoriasis on my scalp currently. It is the first time in a long time that I have been psoriasis free on my scalp. My buddy also has dermatitis on his scalp and I recommended this shampoo and within a week he was talking about how great it was also. I bought this shampoo a year ago for about 18 bucks and I thought to myself that this stuff better work at that price and it did. Also, one bottle has lasted me almost an entire year.

Reformulated product. Coal tar content now less than 0.5% (Formerly 2%)
BE AWARE. This product has been reformulated and now contains less the 0.5% coal tar. You would not know it from the label however, the manufacturer simply dropped the “Contains 2% Coal Tar” text from the label, and no longer specifies the percentage amount. After a lengthy email exchange with with the manufacturer (ArtNaturals) they finally told me that the reformulated product now contains less than 0.5% coal tar. As they were unwilling to tell me the exact amount, AT BEST, it now contains a quarter of the active ingredient “coal tar” that it once did. At worse, it could contain as little as 0.01% coal tar.Personally, I think they have a nerve calling it a “COAL TAR TREATMENT” when it contains so little of that ingredient and they do not specify the amount on the label. This is unlike all other coal tar shampoos that I am aware of, where the amount of coal tar contained within is clearly specified in percentage terms.Shame, as Scalp 18 was once a wonderful product.Accurate 11/07/2018

If it ain't broke.......
I saw a review mention that they have changed the ratio of ingredients and it seems there is some doubt over the coal tar content of this new formula. I've got an old bottle and it states 2% but according to one reviewer who contacted the company there is an undisclosed (reduced ?) amount of coal tar in it. Weird as this is the main active ingredient and the other stuff is just to affect PH levels and condition skin I would think. The original formula was the only coal tar shampoo I have found that doesn't smell awful. I suffered the fairly high price because i had beneficial results with the original formula but now I'm going to try elsewhere. My wallet will certainly benefit if nothing else. UPDATE 11-8 2019. After searching a few other products I have noticed that several brands appear to have reduced coal tar content. There seems to be a suggestion that coal tar contains carcinogens. I have seen recent research that the risk is negligible and to be fair it has been used for around a hundred years so I'm not sure if there is some legal or health reason that they are reducing amounts. As far as I know it is still prescribed for 'medical use' in much higher ratios 5-10 % although this may be for short term treatments. Either way, you can still purchase dozens of higher concentration formulas from chemists so I'm not sure what's going on. Like I said before, the scalp 18 (coal tar) was the best balanced product I have found and I'm disappointed it is no longer available. If someone from artnaturals could maybe leave an explanation in the comments I could be tempted to increase my rating. P.S. The previous formula would have got 5 stars even at the lofty price. Shame

Amazing
The only thing that actually works! If your scalp itches and feels like it's on fire - go for it. I've tried it all - the drugstore classics, Body Shop and more - but this REALLY works. Also doesn't strip my hair dye as much as others so that's a pleasant bonus to all ladies and gents who find that aspect frustrating.

Definitely recommend
This shampoo is the best thing that happened to my scalp in the past 15 years. I suspect I have psoriasis localised to my scalp (has never been diagnosed, just been given various treatments eg. daily Nizoral, steroid lotion etc), and I have been using this product now for a month. It completely changed my scalp, no more itching (I used to scratch even when I was asleep, ferociously), I have baby hairs growing everywhere, no more big dry flakes. Also losing less hair. The quality of my hair is so much better. I can only recommend this shampoo, as it solved a constant sad battle against my psoriasis.

Try it
It smells like something like petrol but that doesn't matter as this product is great .Used H&S previously but they are full of chemicals so switched to this one .Will buy in future only need a tiny amount as it leathers really well so one bottle will last for ages. No itchy scalp and don't need to wash my hair as often .
