This thing is super weird. However
This thing is super weird. However, it’s literally the only thing that works! My dog can’t wear a cone - she thrashes around in a panic which obviously isn’t good after having a chunk of her bone cut and repositioned (TPLO). The ones that look like travel pillows she took off within seconds. Wrapping with vet wrap or an ace bandage on a rear leg just doesn’t work - it’s down around her ankle after just a few steps. Like I said, this thing is weird, but my picky dog tolerates it fine and it covers her entire 8 inch incision. 5 stars from me!

THIS PRODUCT WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE, INCLUDING E-COLLARS!!
This product has been the ONE AND ONLY viable solution for our dogs problem -- he had mast cell tumors with one "angry" one on his only remaining rear leg and it bugged him so he chewed at it -- relentlessly. We purchased literally every "cone" / e-collar we could find (though we did not get to the kind that I believe inflates to form a round, high collar that does not block the eyes and face but does prevent the dog from getting his / her mouth to locations of interest on the body - we would have tried this next because it looked good) and there were flaws with every other type of collar for our dog. I looked at every other sleeve type option for dogs with only one rear leg and they all looked as though they would not stay up in place, etc. THIS SLEEVE HAS TWO FEATURES THAT MAKE IT EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD! The velcro around the ankle or below knee keeps it in place from that end, and the two different adjustable ties -- PARTICULARLY THE ONE THAT GOES TO THE DOG'S COLLAR make the sleeve stay on whether our dog was supervised or not. We were able to adjust the tie that goes around the abdomen very gingerly because he had tumors in there as well, and we adjusted the strap to the neck such that it did not pull on his collar / neck. Both the straps / ties are very stretchy so that once you've done your best to pick the right tightness and positioning, it still offers some latitude that it would not if it were non-stretchy. THIS SLEEVE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED FOR MY BOY AND I RECOMMEND IT HEARTILY. It was a relief to find SOMETHING that worked for our guy while he was alive. The cost is excellent as well. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Thisnsleeve is a lifesaver!!
These sleeves and an inflatable ecollar were a lifesaver after a recent TPLO. I attached the sleeve to a harness that we already had. I purchased one prior to surgery and once I saw how well it worked and confirmed that it kept our boy from messing with the incision I purchased a second. Please do not rely on this sleeve to protect stitches or staples. It is made from t-shirt material and will not deter a determined dog. That said, it does take the attention off of the “foreign objects” in your babies leg.We were able to leave the ecollar off unless we left the house until the stitches came out. I believe I probably could have skipped the ecollar all together because of the sleeve, however it was not worth the chance and the inflatable ecollars are fairly comfortable and act like a build in pillow. The inflatable ecollars which are much more comfortable than the cones. The cones tend to trap warm air and humidity next to their faces which is unpleasant.

Total Sleep Saver!
My Great Dane just had TPLO surgery. Of course they sent him home with a cone, but he was not adjusting well to it. I was more afraid that he would injure himself further trying to get it off. I searched and searched for alternatives but there were really none for long necked dogs. I tried surgical bandage - too tight or too loose. I tried long socks - couldn't get them to stay up. I tried a long sleeve tshirt over both legs - he figured out how to get it off. I was forced to sleep on the couch near him so that I could stop him when I heard him licking. I stumbled across this protective sleeve and thought I would give it a try. The caveat that goes with this sleeve is that if you have a dog that is a chewer, this sleeve probably will not work for you. If your dog is just a licker, then this might be perfect. This sleeve does not keep him from licking, it just keeps him from licking the incision directly. I have found it to be a great solution for a dog that cannot wear the cone. The short straps tie around the waist. The long strap ties around the neck. Do not tie it to the collar. Again, if you have a chewer, this is probably not for you.If I could improve this product, I would make it a little thicker material - something with some elasticity just short of neoprene. I would add a loop to go around the opposite leg then over the hips. Then velcro or a zipper to close it around the back of the protected leg.

Awesome, with some slight faults
My dog is a chocolate lab about 75 lbs. She had ACL surgery and we used this as an alternative to the cone when we were with her and at bedtime. The only complaint I really have about the sleeve is that I measured and ordered the next size up (XL). Unfortunately it tended to fall slightly when she lays down (pulls the strings down essentially), so we do have to adjust it somewhat often. Make sure to order either the size closest (maybe not the next size up).

Works great to cover what remains of his injury spots on ...
I bought this for our dog who has some open wounds related to a dog attack. Works great to cover what remains of his injury spots on the back of his leg so that he can't lick them when not in a cone. From what we could tell, there aren't many such products on the market for hind legs, so we are very grateful that this one is working out for him. I bought the medium (he's about 50 lbs). It is the perfect size for his leg length. The collar tie wouldn't have been able to make it around his neck, but he normally wears a halter anyway, so it is tied to the halter instead, which works just fine. I think I prefer it that way rather than around the neck anyway. We were putting a backwards t-shirt on him before this arrived, and this makes the process alot easier!

Useful but not full coverage
This is a good product that is well made. The fabric is definitely breathable and the sleeve is well constructed. I was happy to find it. For me, the down side was that when my dog lay down, the upper half of the sleeve gaped open so he had full access to the stitches on his knee. The incision was totally covered while he was upright and moving around, but one he lay down there was essentially no coverage at all. Definitely not a substitute for the cone. In retrospect that goes with the design but it would have been useful to understand that in advance. What would do the trick, perhaps is to have sleeves on both sides, joined across the back. That might help keep the coverage when the dog lays down.

Good Purchase But Required Some Modification
I purchased this for my dog, after she had a surgery on her leg, because she doesn't do well with an e collar. Overall, it seems to work well, but it did require a little creative modification on my part, as the sizing didn't work for her body (she's an average lab, not overweight). I did measure according to the chart, but the length of the sleeve was long, the width of the tie that is supposed to go around her stomach was a little short, but usable. My other major qualm was that in order to keep the sleeve from slipping, the tie that runs along the back to her neck would have pulled on her neck while she was sitting or laying down.I ended up fixing this by putting her in a soft harness that won't chafe, and tying the back/neck- tie to that. It has kept her from licking the leg, but required a little more effort on my part than I had hoped for. The long sleeve I just cuffed, and it seems to be causing her no problems.Overall, the product is soft and doesn't seem to irritate her at all, and is serving its purpose, but the neck tie isn't the best product design- I would be reticent to leave my dog alone with the tie around her neck.

Bye-bye Speakerhead, Hello Superdog Pants
The cone was driving poor Manouche absolutely insane, so we got him this pajama sleeve for his leg. Now he's a happy puppy without a big plastic speaker on his head. Bye-bye RCA dog, Hello Superdog :)A special Thank You to the Amazon agent who expedited the delivery so that our dog could have some peace as he was going crazy with the cone on his head.

Should have bought two!
This is a fabulous design. My terrier will not leave his leg alone, even with a cone on, after his biopsy. He managed to get out of shorts. It fits his short, muscular legs very well. The velcro doesn't stay on as well after a month, but he is ok with the baggy look.I wish I would have bought two pairs to make washing days less stressful. Great product at an affordable price.

Definitely too small for our dog... unfortunately ...
Definitely too small for our dog...unfortunately, the right size was not available and we needed to get something for the surgery immediately. That said, the cover works well and we could take off the dreaded cone!

Awesome product!
Can't say anything bad about it except maybe the "strings" could be somewhat stretchy to give the dog a bit of relief from having it tied around them. Otherwise it's been awesome for my dog that has a open wound inside her leg.

Nice easy protection for knee surgery incision.
Our vet and canine physiotherapist were both impressed enough with this product to take photos and ordering information.

Would not recommend
We tried this product for our Lab/Sheppard post hip surgery. We found it to be ineffective and not a suitable replacement for a cone. It is flimsy and the XXL was much too small.

Good Fit
I ordered this product for my 45lb Australian shepherd , He had a cyst removed that was on his hind leg, I ordered a medium and it fit him perfectly. Saved him from wearing the dreaded cone.

Essy to wear for dog
Used for my Husky after TPLO surgery instead of making him wear the cone. Was perfect! He never tried to lick his wound. Easy to put on and dries up fast after washing.

It worked
Covered leg well but the strap to goto the collar/neck is way too short. Stopped dog from licking leg after ACL surgery!
