The Bill of Materials in Excel, Erp, Planning and Plm/Bmms Software Paperback – November 8, 2012

As a small business owner with a VERY limited knowledge base in software (and as someone who hates using Excel) this book was a godsend. Starting a new business is daunting and extremely time consuming and I found it hard to find readable, concise and user friendly guidance on how to work with a bill of materials or recipe (a recipe is another type of BOM). This book outlined, step by step, what I had to do to wrap my head around what I needed to do to get a handle on the BOM process and outlined how current BOM standards could negatively impact my business. It starts with an easy to read introduction to the bill of materials and goes from there. At the end it also goes over some typical dangers that new business can run into if they don’t understand BOM. Uses very clear language so that even the most “challenged” reader can understand it. A useful book and highly recommended.

Again this is one of 4 guides of this series I have that I'm writing a review on simply because I have had experience in the SAP realm as a corporate and technical recruiter and found that these books are a great asset to have in your arsenal. Take it from a technical recruiter who spent tons of time researching and talking to a myriad of consultants globally. They truly appreciate a recruiter who understands their skills and assets as well as the client's needs so we can better be able to match them to their dream job or long-term contract. These books will give you the knowledge over your competition.

This book will help you save your time and money in your business. When You've just jumped into a business you need all the help you can get and this book was great for that. It shows you how to do do your ordering and management responsibly. All of Shaun's books have been extremely helpful to us and will hopefully help us keep our little business off the ground.
