My 6 yr old son loves these books

If a reluctant 2nd grade reader would take initiative to pick up a book, finish in 1 go and ask for another one to read, the book deserves a 5 star rating. However I would probably classify the reading level to grade 1.On a different note, I wish a publisher would pick up all Anh Do's books and distribute them timely so we get them all in a better price. Hot Dog series is up to #7 in Australia now. We have also preordered Ninja Kid series. No sign of Wolf girl series in USA in an inexpensive price yet.

Great series for readers beginning chapter books. Very funny and engaging with illustrations, which easily encourage young readers to keep going. Though this is a chapter book, it really makes it easy with funny dialogue and great pictures which help young readers stay engaged. My daughter is at a high 1rst grade/beginning 2nd grade level and I think this book is perfect to encourage beginning chapter level reading.

This is difficult to review. The text is funny, sharp, and current. Kids love it! However, the book is poorly published. In one month's time, it has fallen apart. It was apparent when it arrived that it was not going to be able to endure repeated readings. I have books on my classroom bookshelf that have been in students' hands for over 30 years (yes! there are some great ones that stand the test of time!). Unfortunately, this one did not. It is money wasted.

My kids LOVED this book. Really anything by this author, however the whole entire book fell apart when the 3rd child was reading it. The binding was done so poorly!
