BANDAI Hobby - Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans - #01 Gundam Barbatos, HG IBO Model Kit

Cool kit of one of my favorite units. Solid build with fairly nice joints. Pretty quick, it took me about 4 hours with extra work on it.

I'm super hyped watching the cartoon and had to get this Gunpla kit. It was really simple to put together and didn't require many stickers. Once finished some details still need to be painted in. It includes the mace and sword along with an extra arm so he can be posed as version 1 or 4. The model is great but could've hidden the joints a little better, specially in the waist and feat. Overall it looks good and has a great range of motion. I would have liked it more if they would have included the Canon, the blue shoulder pads and if the spike would extend from the mace. But for the price, I'm satisfied with what I got.I really hope the come out with a RG version that improves on this kit, but until then this is the version to own.

Overall I'm very happy with this model. It's my first Gundam model but I've built a few cars and a bunch of tabletop game models in the past so I have some experience in that regard. the plastics seem well molded and are clean, crisp and well detailed. the colors are consistent throughout the molds and seem pretty durable. The instructions at first glance appear complex but are actually extremely easy to follow. I love the articulation in the finished build, I put this thing on the shelf in my office and I've reposed it about 6 times this morning alone. This is an amazing, well priced toy for ages 10 and up. there is one thing that keeps it from the prized 5th star, the box art and photos that are on amazons website. While the pictures and artwork do well to sell the model they are not the actual product you assemble. The yellow trim shown in the images on the bottom of the shoulders is white unless you paint it yourself. That's it! That Is my only complaint, love this thing and I will certainly be buying more of these little guys

Probably one of the best HGs in recent years. The kit has a very large range of motion, even for an IBO High Grade. The details are also a good deal higher than HGs of years past. It's also a very quick and easy build with few runners, which would explain the low price.I really wish I could give this kit a 4.5. The one issue with the Barbatos is that many of the colored details (red symbols, yellow bits on shoulders, etc) are left on white plastic with only stickers to cover them. However, a bit of paint makes for a pretty easy detailing job. In my photo, I hand painted the sticker details, except for the eyes, weathered and panel lined the kit, and flat coated. A straight build will NOT give the same results.

Looks great on display japanese bandai box, two weapons and the stickers went on nice and easy (roughly 20 in total) they even had perforation. Came factory sealed in yellow folder so wasn't too happy about that as I assume the case got dented from this since it wasn't shipped in a box but no significant damage still satisfied but couldn't say the same in all cases if the mailman bumped it too hard.First model kit I put together in a long while and I got it together in less than an hour with great ease all the while enjoying it (pieces broke apart easily, everything snapped together right, no faulty parts) exactly what I expectedfast shipping too

I absolutely love this kit! I've been building Gunpla for over 20 years now, and I rarely buy the same model twice-- this purchase is my THIRD kit of the same release (1st & 4th form), and my fifth Barbatos altogether (I have 5th/6th form & a Lupus Rex). Due to the inner frame and cross compatibility, there are a lot of customization options for this kit.I used my first kit for a holiday build contest, the second is reserved for the Long Distance Transport & Booster Kutan III, and the third will be converted to 2nd form. I had to use the gauntlet arm from the second kit for my Lupus Rex to form the repair version (available with parts from the MS Option Set #9).I'd give this kit more stars if I could because it's great as is, straight out of the box, and it has lots of customization and kitbashing possibilities. kits (especially at this price point) can win in both categories.
