SkimmerMotion 3/4" White Flexible Hose Replacement Part for Pools Up to 8 Ft

The replacement hose was more supple than the original hose that came with the product. The original hose developed cracks 7 months after I bought it. This isn't surprising considering that my pool uses a device called a "chlorinator" to make chlorine. Rather than dumping chlorine tablets in the water, a "salt" pool has finely ground salt dumped into the water periodically. The chlorinator device breaks down the salt (sodium chloride) into sodium and chlorine. Salt, even in heavily diluted quantities, can corrode things like plastic which is what the hose of the SkimmerMotion is made of. I have had the replacement hose in place for two months. So far, it's working fine. And the SkimmerMotion device also works well, removing small particles of leaves and dirt from the pool's surface by piggy-backing onto the suction created by my pool cleaner, a Pentair Barracuda T5 Duo.

I've used a SkimmerMotion pool surface sweeper (8 hours per day) since Sept. 2014 and it has worked effectively to sweep up surface debris. The deep end of my pool is about 9 feet so I originally purchased the set with the 10 ft. hose. The problem was that the hose formed a constant loop near the sweeper that eventually caused the looped area to crack after about 1 year and 5 months (Feb. 2016). The longer 10ft. hose also occasionally gets tangled up with the main hose or got caught underneath the automatic pool cleaner.This new replacement hose is 8 ft. has a newly designed ballast (two mini stubs with vent holes instead of the old gray weighted sleeve on the hose) near the sweeper to keep it floating flat on the water surface. The 8 ft. hose still forms a loop when in shallower end of the pool but generally no loop with a slightly tilted sweeper when in the deeper end vs. the 10 ft. hose that usually formed a loop at all depths but the sweeper remained flat on the water surface. Let's see how long this new 8 ft. hose will last vs. the old 10 ft. hose.

Exact replacement for the pool motion hose that dry rotted. I was so happy to be able to get another hose so easily since we leave the pool skimmer attached all the time. The price was a few dollars less then my local pool store, which was out of them. I just hope it lasts longer then my original which broke a year after having it.

The Skimmer motion I bought came with the 10' pool hose. Like another reviewer here, It also would never let go of the coiled memory from shipping I guess. My pool is only 6' deep after a monsoon so it was always coiled and getting hooked under the cleaner's hose or sometimes even the ladder. This 8' pool hoe is a little better as it does uncurl when in the deep end at least and the skimmer gets somewhat even.It's still the same stiff plastic and the ballast still doesn't work to keep the skimmotion level. It will probably crack in a year as well, just like the one I am replacing.

Less expensive than at pool store. It last a year or two. Then it cracks and needs to be replaced. A maintenance item.

Just what we needed!! Now the pool filter is just running around the pool

I love the skimmer...works well, however the hosing does not hold up....it cracks. Now looking for my 3rd hose in less than 2 years.
