Door Reinforcement Lock with 4 Screws, Home Security Door Lock Stop for Toddler, Childproof Door Lock Night Lock Withstand 800 Lbs Black

I purchased 3 of these to help contain my Dad with dementia. I positioned them above eye level to keep them out of his direct line of sight. It is a very secure flip lock with strength comparable to a standard deadbolt. It has a spring loaded mechanism that is not "easy" to open/close, but once you know how it works, not difficult to manage. I have them mounted close enough to the inner edge of the door that it "snugs" the door shut eliminating any play the door would normally have. Each lock comes with 2 sets of screws for different depths of door facing. My biggest complaint stems from the thickness of the material. I mounted directly to the door frame without chiseling to countersink. As a result the door hangs a little on opening/closing. One door has a slightly larger gap and there is no rub. I'll fix the other 2 eventually, but it's a small price to pay for the benefit of thicker/more secure material than a standard flip lock you get from the box stores.

I like the simple lines of the lock. For the usage of locking my door when my 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter comes over it is a great lock. She has figured out how to escape and open the door using the door knob! What I do you not like about this lock is the fact it has a poor design. I had to hire a contractor to chisel out part of my door frame so that it would be flush inside my door frame to allow my door to open and close. I have a standard door frame no intricate details but unfortunately the lock has a strange protruding lip that rubs on your door if you install it flush with the frame. Once the contractor She has figured out how to escape and open the door using the door knob! What I do not like about this lock is the fact it has a poor design. The other negative I found was the mechanism is not easy to unlock and lock similar to a hotel flip lock. This lock has a spring load and it takes a little bit of effort to engage and release the lock. Had I not had a contractor scheduled to do other work in my house I would have returned this lock

My son is autistic and got out the door and made it several blocks away barefoot before I was able to finally catch up to him. This lock is the only one out of all the ones I bought, that was able to stump him. Was easy to install.

Love this thing. Truly no way anyone can break in with this on the door. Installed one on a swinging window, as well. Very easy to install.

This lock was very easy to install, although I did have to buy a set of chisels to carve out some of the door frame so the lock could swing out properly. But hey, chiseling is easy and fun, so I'm glad I had an excuse to buy some :)The lock is very secure, even with the included "shorter than they should be" screws. I don't see any need to replace the screws with longer ones. If someone is able to break through the lock as-is, we have bigger problems that I doubt 3-inch screws would solve, you know?

Wish I had found these years ago. When these are locked in place I feel secure in my home.I'm not saying that these make the doors unbreachable, but in my opinion it would take a battering ram like S.W.A.T. uses to force the door open, & that would make a lot of noise to alert whomever is at home. No lock picking device could open them.

I added this to the front door to keep grandkids and the dog from opening the door by grabbing the handle....which they both learned to do. It installs easily, countersinking it into the door jam. It snaps into place so you know it is secure, no more kids and pets escaping.

Love this. Love that it’s brown and is barley noticeable against our wood door. Easy to use and prevents the toddler from getting the front door open.
