The Craft of Coloring: 35 Mandala Designs: An Adult Coloring Book (Relaxing And Stress Relieving Adult Coloring Books)

Had been thinking for a while about getting an adult coloring book. I purchased this one for just under $4.00. For the price I thought it would be a good way to get started. It is a book of Mandala designs, which according to Wikipedia means "circle" in Sanskrit and states that they are spiritual and ritual symbols in Indian religions, representing the universe. I was not sure I would enjoy coloring these designs. However, I think this is a very good book to start with because the detail is small and medium. In other words there is plenty of detail to keep an adult interested and to use a lot of creativity at the same time, but not too much that it is too difficult or tedious. I finished the one below in about 1.5 hours. It took me another 30 minutes to paint it, since I was using water color pencils. I like the water color pencils because it gives creative options: one can use just the colored pencil, or go back over picture with a paint brush and create a watercolor look, which really brightened the colors and filed in the white space. For $4 plus the cost of the pencils this is a great little book which will give me about 70 hours of entertainment and relaxation therapy. (I purchased "Stationary Cupboard 24 Water Color Pencils" which come with a brush and a sharpener. I would recommend these pencils)

I decided to get the craft of coloring adult coloring book. It is sold by The Craft of Coloring. Here is what I think about it.* 35 page adult coloring book* mandalasI am very into I don't coloring books. I find it soothing. I enjoy the mandala theme of this book. The geometrical shapes are mesmerizing. I like choosing my color themes for each page.I like that each page are single sided. Sometimes, I prefer to cover in pencil or gel pens. This helps from them bleeding through to the other page. It's also nice if you want to save and frame one of your pieces.This was a very inexpensive book under $5 on sale. I definitely think that is well worth the entertainment value. It is definitely very enough pattern wise, that you will not get bored. I would recommend this it is a soothing hobby.I purchased this on sale in exchange for my honest unbiased review. All of the opinions expressed here are solely my own.

I have a half dozen coloring books. This is the only one that the paper tears no matter which medium I use (pens, soft pencil, hard pencil, crayon, or pastel). Of course, most colors bleed. Designs are pretty. I will copy on to decent paper. Also, this is nice for beginners because thd pages are small and not too much detail. But what good is this if the paper tears whenever you try to color.

This book is great for any mandala lover! My sister just got into adult coloring books and really took to the simple mandala pictures, so I got this book for her to use when she comes over to keep my kids and they all color together. She loves it, says the designs are beautiful--simple enough to help her de-stress, but complex enough to keep her interested until she completes the page. Colored pencils look great on the brilliant white pages, and my sister plans to use some of her finished pages to decorate in her house, so apparently the original artist did well enough on the mandala sketches to really impress her.I recommend this book for anyone looking for a great introduction to adult coloring books and for anyone who really likes the calming symmetry of mandalas.

I don't know what it is about coloring but even as an adult I could sit and do it for hours. This adult coloring book, 'The Craft of Coloring: 35 Mandala Designs really appeals to my obsessive compulsive side. I have a thing for symmetry and shapes and intricate designs when it comes to coloring. I love this book. The paper quality is very nice as well as the cover and binding. I was sad there were only 35 designs but I am intrigued by every one of them. On the inside of the coloring book states also you can copy these to use over again. What a great company to suggest such. I won't do that most likely but I thought that was pretty interesting. I look forward to purchasing other items from The Craft of Coloring.

I think this is the best calming hobby that I've recently been introduced to. My friend told me about adult coloring books and I was immediately hooked. I love all of these designs in this book as they are quite unique and intricate. If I get stressed out and have a few spare minutes I'll pull out this coloring book with some colored pencils and color my stress away. There are no instructions with this book. Let your imagination take you away by coloring any color in any space you want. I'm a very OCD type person and I fell into a habit of coloring this book in it's patterns meaning if 1 shape was blue all of those shapes had to be blue. Well I stopped coloring this way as it became boring and it wasn't fun anymore. Overall, I like this coloring book because of the unique designs.

This book has been a terrific sanity saver this week! My mother in law was in the ICU for the past week and I brought the book in along with some markers, and left it in the waiting room, where there was always family around. Everyone worked on it, at different times, finishing a page, then moving on to another. Each page is now complete and actually a frame-able piece of art, along with a memory. The pages are heavy enough that the marker did not bleed through to the other side. The designs are interesting and fun to work on. Love this colouring book! I've had previous adult colouring books in the past and this one is on par with those. Love the mandala designs.
