WonderArtTwirl Latch Hook Kit, 8" X 8"

I bought this kit (plus a hook) to see if I would enjoy doing it as an alternative to screen time. I remember doing them as a kid, but wasn't sure if it would have the same appeal. So I bought the smallest, least expensive one I could find to give it a try. Of course it would be more enjoyable with an image that appealed to me, so I chose the butterfly. I really liked the one pictured, but received a different, less appealing butterfly, so that was disappointing. But it has served the purpose of doing something that isn't technology based. The image is not printed on the canvas, which is OK with me but I know it's been a problem for some. I like the extra challenge of counting the squares, but understand that may be difficult for some. There is a grid printed which helps a lot.

I am very disappointed in this product. When I searched for a latch hook kit on the site, I used "children" in My criteria because I was purchasing it for my 7 year old. The price was right for being her first project, but that meant the tool was not included. I was aware of that and ok with that. I liked that there were only three colors to deal with and the simple design. My problem is with the material (base) that we put the yarn through. It's just white! No pre-printed design! Never have I seen a latch hook like this. I had to spend an hour going through, counting squares and coloring the pattern onto the base for her and it's still a little off! This was s birthday gift, a first time trying this craft and it really disappointed both of us. Unfortunately, this project will most likely never get completed.I suggest adding this information (easily seen) in the product description and take it out of the category for children.

I bought this for my children thinking like other latch kits we’ve received it would have a pattern on it but it doesn’t. They have to follow a sheet and figure out where to latch the yarn which is a lot more complicated. Not what I expected.

I didn't realize that the canvas didn't have the pattern printed on it. I got this for my 72yo mother as a fun activity. She was used to the ones with the colors printed on the canvas. This is too challenging for her to have to figure out. Also, the yarn doesn't seem to be very good quality and you do not get the latch hook with the kit. Spend your money on a better quality kit.

The picture wasn't printed on the grind which I was disappointed in. There's no straight forward on where to start on it. I thought this would be as big as a couch pillow but it's as small a mini accent pillow

There's a lie it says that it's printed on the canvas it is not. Being that I'm kind of artistic and crafty, I can do this but they lie it's not printed on the canvas at all. You have to go buy a pattern on paper. I'm kind of disappointed because, I bought one for my mom and one for myself my mom's is bigger and it's cats and it's by the same company and it's the same story the picture itself is not on the canvas.

NO color coded canvas as another review stated.. IF there is NO colored canvas do not say that on description… so this makes it much more difficult for a beginners project.. look for latch hooks that the actual design is printed onto the canvas.. NOT like this one with just a mapping out of the colors..

I didn't read the reviews before I purchased this as part of a gift for an 11 year old. I was very surprised that there is no latching tool included. Its like giving a toy on Christmas without giving batteries. But what really annoyed me was that the canvas is blank. They send you a template and you have to color it in. I teach craft classes after school so I have seen and used many rug hook kits, this was a disappointing first. I would have sent it back, but the child was excited so I started to color in the canvas and just ordered the latching tool. Turned out to be a bad deal.
