I've read some reviews saying its a thick, sticky consistency. It can be, but i've discovered that 1) you dont need a lot of it and 2) if you put it on your fingers/hands, rub it a little together (like how one does with an oil or serum) and then apply it to you face, then it will rub in pretty nice and evenly.I also like to take the time to fully rub it in and while i do this, i give myself a little facial massage.after rubbing it in, i was my hands with some soap because my fingers do feel sticky afterwards but like its sunscreen... it's normal.i think it goes well under make up, as long as your rub all of it in. If you use too much or dont rub it in, then it can pill and stay white in places.I honestly love that this brand. I've tried other mineral sunscreens, like Alba Botanica, and they made me break out (i think from the titanium dixoxide). I've found personally, that my skin loves zinc oxide. it helps retain moisture throughout the day.it does great for preventing sun burns.I have had the body sunscreen for maybe a yer after it says it expired and it is still great consistency, not molded at all, and prevented me from getting sunburns at the beach the other day. I forgot to put some on the back of my neck and that got super red. So, even expired, it worked great.

Maybe I got a bad batch but this lotion was sticky & goopy, almost like it had separated. It was very difficult to completely rub it into my skin & took quite awhile to be absorbed. But what I really hated the most was it is sticky! As in tacky even after I had completely rubbed in it. Also, although is specifically says it is for faces, I found that here in AZ working outside when sweat was running into my eyes it BURNED!! Like hell. I have very sensitive skin with allergies which is why I got this & I wear contacts so my eyes tend to be sensitive too, but the burning was a deal breaker for me. I would have put up with the tacky, goopy mess if it hadn't burned. I am giving this 2 stars because it has a very nice smell too it that is not over powering or chemical in anyway, but more fresh botanical.**April 2015** from 2 stars to 4 starsI was contact by a company rep re:their 100% Happy Customer policy & she offered to send me a new tube of sunscreen. She said it did sound like the one I had gotten separated. I am very happy about their customer service, what a great company! I got my new tube & it is quite different than the 1st one! First off, it's gray in color instead of the typical white sunscreen, which doesn't really matter to me. Plus it does not burn!! Yeah! It is still tackier (is that a thing?) than a normal sunscreen but does eventually get absorbed. It still has a great botanical smell. Great company customer service, I would buy from them again.

Observations upon my first use of this product:1) Smells absolutely heavenly upon opening! And I say this as someone who usually doesn't like lavender scents.2) Holy crap, makes me look like a ghost!3) Requires a lot of massage to rub the product into my skin, and leaves a glossy/oily sheen even after the whiteness diminishes. I rubbed some along my neck and collarbone to blend out the contrast of sheen/matte skin. This problem might be solved by people who opt to wear a translucent setting powder or something like that. I don't wear skin makeup.4) Starts out feeling slick and lightweight on my hands, but feels increasingly sticky as it's rubbed in.5) The scent degrades into something vaguely soapy smelling as it's rubbed in, instead of the delicious tangy floral lavender scent it originally exudes. But that's mild, and fades nearly completely after a few minutes of wear, so this part isn't a major problem for me.6) Hard to wash off my hands! Which I suppose says something positive about its waterproofness.I will edit this as I continue to use the product. I'm particularly interested in seeing if it causes any breakouts, etc. So far, just this one day of wear hasn't produced any additional pimples or blemishes, so I'm hopeful. Will also report how easy it is to remove at the end of the day.

I usually am much too busy for reviews. But this time I had to take the time to say that for very first time, I am able to wear a natural sunscreen without having to hide my face!! I have tried many brands over the years. This one is really the most wearable!!!! Just remember to SHAKE WELL before using. I wish it was written much bigger on the bottle as this is important to the sun protection it would provide.Also, this formula is a HUGE improvement over the past ones from the same brand (I used sunny face slightly tinted before but it was just not so flattering to wear! Even though it was really the best natural sunscreen I had found at the time! (I must add that I have also used the tinted version of badger which looked absolutely scary on me once it was applied- honestly that one I could not wear even once). I was even thinking maybe I just have to go back to chemical sunscreens. To be able to get the sun protection and still look presentable.But thankfully I found this one which is my absolute favorite! It does give you the protection without all the harmful effects of the chemical sunscreens and AT LAST it is a formula that is wearable (after rubbing patiently it will become invisible I promise). Please please do not change the formula!! At last a natural sunscreen that does not make you look scary!I will add that I have just purchased another bottle to give it to my mom. Also I should add that I fully paid for everything purchased and not received any sort of discount or gift for my review.

Very thick, greasy and hard to spread without bobbling up. The smell is very strong and doesn't disappear. Awful. It's in the bin.
