Moisture and highlighter
This is a great multitasker, it moisturizes, primes and illuminates. You can wear it alone as a tinted moisturizer or under makeup as a primer. I usually use it as a tinted moisturizer because my dogs really don't care if I put on makeup to take them for a walk but if I have somewhere to go that involves human beings, I use it as a primer. Doesn't really blur imprfections or hide pores but it does give a lit from within glow. I should point out that I don't use full coverage makeup, if you do you're not going to get the illumination effect.

5* +++
It I could give this more than five stars I would.My initial impression when I opened it was that it would be way too dark and that the bottle is tiny. But fear not. Once on it blends in really well to give you a fresh sun kissed look without being overly shiny. I used a little more than I would just for purposes of taking the photo. It’s ideal for no makeup days, to use under or mixed with your foundation or to dab as a highlighter.It’s wonderfully moisturising and worth every penny

Horrible! The product is great but Amazon send a previously opened product!
I love this product and ordered it through Amazon. It came with an opened box, and an opened seal and produce streaming down the side of the container. I am returning it. Going forward, I will go to Trish directly. This package had been violated and I was not sure if it was safe to use it. Amazon, what is going on?

I use this over moisturizer to give a glowy finish
Absolutely love pearlescent moisturizers that are kind of a mix of highlighter and face cream. This one does give a really nice subtle shimmery glow to the skin. It’s not too overpowering but I like that, you don’t see any shimmer particles it’s just a pearly glow. As a moisturizer, it is a bit lacking. It’s very runny and almost watery and texture, and very thin when spread onto the skin. I definitely like the aesthetic look of it more than the functional performance as a face cream. But it layers well with other skincare so I like to wear this over my day cream.

Odd color, for me it’s a first layer serum. It’s ok.
This is a lot of packaging for a small amount of product. This cream is a brown color, like melted chocolate ice cream. I was afraid it would add a jarring color to my skin but it really does not seem to tint with application. It is very light weight, for my dry skin more of a serum layer. It did smooth my skin nicely and took a day cream on top of it well. As to the name, it certainly did soothe. However there was no “illuminate” action, no sparkle or highlighting. There does not seem to be any fragrance at all.I may continue to use it but there are better products for my skin type.

Tinted cream best used as a primer
Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Soothe and Illuminate Cream is a thin, tinted cream that needs to be stirred to evenly distribute the pearlization. The hint of color disappears even on my very fair skin. It doesn't add much if any moisture so I can use this as a primer over my moisturizer and then add a CC cream on top for more coverage.

works best as primer under makeup, little moisture, no staying power on bare skin
The media could not be loaded. I didn't care for this at first. I was using it as a moisturizer on a bare face. It doesn't really moisturize, and has more of a serum feel. I didn't see any real difference in how it made my skin appear. I put some on my forearm to see if I could tell the difference between bare skin and the area that I have this on. I could see it, and I took a short video that I will post. There is a slight shimmer. But it disappears not long after.It wasn't until I put on foundation that I could tell the difference. And that difference wasn't immediate. It was when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror a little while later that I thought I looked extra good. Then I remembered.. oh, the illuminating moisturizer is coming though.So it does work.. guess just depends on what you are using it for and how you are using it. I had another illuminating cream that I had used up and tossed the container.. but cant remember the name. Can't find it in my orders or email... so I have been looking for something else. This isn't it because I want something that is a good moisturizer for my dry skin, and I want the fresh illuminated look, and I want it to last, and I want it to not require use with make up This Trish McEvoy seems to work best when paired with make up; ie as a primer--I dont notice redness reduction (I have pink cheeks from visible veins from type 1 Rosacea, but it doesn't exacerbate it either)--It feels too light to be a moisturizer for my 40 something dry skin. Those with oily to normal skin may like it better.--Might need to be mixed before using. The consistency is not thick, it is a little thin and runny. I think it would be better to be in a pump container, or a container with a dropper. Then it could be shaken to mix and no need to use a spatula.--On plus side, it doesnt add actual color despite having a dark hue in the container.3.5 stars. I dont like it enough to give it 4, so 3 it is. It's "OK". That doesn't mean it's bad, it's just not quite for me.
