Best aquaponic system
The filter is quiet and the system is easy to set up. The bulb for the light is replaceable, a huge advantage over other models that require the entire lamp to be replaced when bulbs go out. Written, easy to follow instructions with pictures were included. The side intended for dirt can be converted to aquaponics very easily, just snake the outlet tube back into the tank and hold in place with a clip or snake it through a plant basket. There were two foam cutouts included so you can use both sides for water easily. The foam and the extension tubes for the light are found easily and cheaply at craft and hardware stores, so the pieces most easily damaged from clumsiness or plant roots can be replaced easily. The baskets for the plants are strong. The cutouts for the baskets fit the baskets for an aerogarden too and vice versa, so you can transfer plants back and forth. The light with timer is very easy to use. The system is very versatile, easy to use, and inexpensive when compared to either plant-only hydroponic systems or fish hydroponic systems. This one sustains fish and plants, holds 30 plants easily, and is cheaper than the fish hydroponic systems or aerogardens. Each reservoir holds about 6 gallons. I liked it so much after I received it in the mail I ordered another one right away.

I actually love it!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this back in April and set it up as instructed. Thank god I didn't add fish right away. I went to a local fish farm and got lots of advice and joined several Facebook groups about aguaponics and aquarium keeping. I learned that the fish need a heater, which the system doesn't bring and a better filter. I also learned that a tank for fish this small requires 5 to 6 weeks of cycling to grow the bacteria that will keep the water parameters good for the fish. I had taken the wicks out thinking the nitrates were leeching into the water. I just recently put them back in and planted more seeds. So basically my review is that this really is a great starter to learn about aguaponics and fish keeping. But you have to be willing to learn and research and have errors. But overall, I am really glad I bought this!

Need your own filter
The filter included was way too powerful for such a little tank. I've got six goldfish and a frog in there now, doing great! The tank looks crystal clear when the light is on, and becomes more cloudy to give the fish their privacy when it's off. Plants are growing well. You need a heater, too, because it's not really ideal at room temperature. So add an appropriate filter and heater, and it's good to go.

Tank is not clear. Hard to see fish.
We returned this after receiving it and realizing the fish tank portion is not clear plastic... It is kind of hazey and would not be easy to see fish through.

Don't waste your money
Very cheap materials. The fish tank portion is not very transparent, you cannot see your fish unless they are right up to the edge. The light will not stay in place and is very flimsily supported. Filter and hydroponic media supplied are standard but you are better off making a set up like this yourself with an actual 15 gal aquarium and plant pot and save over half the cost.

Nice starter setup
I like this as a simple way to get started in Aquaponics. If this goes well, I will likely build my own larger system modeled after this setup. It was shipped quickly; I received the kit with all parts in-tact and as pictured. Was very easy to setup. Print instructions were included, but I had also watched the video linked in the description. I did also order a small 50w heater for the fish tank, as many fish won't like a room temperature tank.

NOT a small hydroponics set up
With the wording an all of the ad, i thought i was paying for a lot more than what i got.

No instructions included
The system comes without an instruction manual. You have to go online and watch a video. Much easier if you could include a manual. Pump does not work well. Can only put a few fish in it or they die. Can not put as many as they show in picture. Not worth the price.
