good product
Great product, solid parts and quality power. A quick connection of the provided wires, and a ground wire added from my work bench, and this was providing power for my small electronics cleanly.

Reliable Quiet Operation
Have been using this since last August. Smooth and quiet operation. Has been sitting outside in a ventilated but water proof cabinet. This was a mild winter, so there were no temperature issues. I have the output running to an AC / USB charging station that we use for keep all our portable devices (phones, tablets and battery packs). My only regret is that it uses about .5A when idling, so when the sun is low, my 150W solar panel does not produce enough juice to do anything useful. I do have a timer that disconnects the Inverter from the battery at fixed times, which I adjust now and then as the amount of sun changes.Update: July 2016Since my original review, I have employed an MPPT charge controller which has made better utilization of the inverter. Recently, I put on a load of something less than 250Watts, and the inverter complains and the frequency regulation is interrupted so much that the Cyberpower UPS that is being supplied by the inverter signals "bad power" and a power frequency failure. The UPS has been set to the "low sensitivity" mode, that works just fine when I use my outdoor generator during a power outage - and that one does not claim to be pure sine wave. So, I have reduced the rating from 5 down to 4, and I am now looking into getting a higher power inverter.

Good inverter, poor connectors
I've only had it a few days, but so far it seems to operate well. My only complaint is that the connectors that insert into the inverter are very delicate and if anything bumps them they bend or break. I've only had it a few days and already a box in the trunk broke one of the connectors by bumping into it.UPDATE: I've had this inverter for two years and the unit itself has remained flawless and silent. The cigarette lighter plug has me pulling my hair out. It's a really junky plug. When you press the center pin it pushes the whole assembly inside the plug and forces the wires to push out the rear. If you leave it plugged in continuously the spring action eventually gives up the ghost and the plug no longer works. If it weren't for the bizarre proprietary connectors I would just make my own replacement with a better plug. Samlex has been really great about sending replacement plugs, though. The customer service is excellent.Update 1/5/2019: I used this inverter for years in a 2012 Prius with no issues. Got a new 2018 Prius and this inverter is no longer usable via cigarette lighter adapter. The voltage in the 2018 Prius will drop below 10.5V when the inverter is drawing more than about 5A, which sounds a shrieking alarm which cannot be disabled. The only solution is to hard wire the inverter in late model Priuses.Prior to 2017 the 12V batter was in the passenger compartment, which made hard wiring an inverter very easy. The Generation 4 Prius has the battery in the engine compartment, which makes hard-wiring an inverter much more difficult since Toyota does not have any readily available holes in the firewall for running wire.

Excellent product better than I expected
Excellent product better than I expected. I use it to operate my router and modem when we had a power outage and everything was great.

but this is a nice heavy duty 300 watt PSW inverter
I sold the camper this was going in, but this is a nice heavy duty 300 watt PSW inverter,

Nice and quiet but cheap plug
Very nice unit. I like the tabs for connecting the power supply. The only thing is the male cigarette plug is on the cheap side for a unit this expensive. For Samlex to have sold it with a really awesome 12 volt male plug would have been what I'd expect from a top company. I have other plugs that have real nice tapered and gripped plugs that are even more solid feeling and so much easier to pull out of the female power supply socket. I got it mainly to run my LED AC television while camping and the invereter cooling fan hasn't gone on yet. Only ran the television for 15 minutes or so though drawing only 31watts. My cheaper inverter's fan goes on instantly and it's rated at 400 watts continuous.

This inverter produces a very clean sine wave which is important when powering sensitive devices that can be damaged by 'dirty' power. Delivery was faster than promised.

Terminals leave something to be desired.
Does the job and for a great price. I put a lot of research and thought into exactly how to wire this. Much to my surprise, the terminal screws on this thing are tiny! A standard jeweler's screwdriver is not strong enough. This will require a harder tip as found in an assortment of 1/4" hex multi driver kit. Otherwise, puts out a clean sinewave. LED lights don't flicker. Stays up even when starting. I'm happy enough. Anything more would require a certified upfitter to convert my truck to auxiliary battery and larger alternator. With this unit, I can use my laptop or charge one tool battery.
