Evidence-Based Practices for Strategic and Tactical Firefighting

For once something in the fire service is based upon science and evidence instead of ego and tradition. Even so, despite the weight of this study, I think it will take time to be accepted as tactics described go against the flow of "aggressive interior firefighting". This book provides a solid wealth of information to the progressive, forward thinking and secure firefighter/fire officer to consider and employ to do the most with what they have while keeping operating personnel safe.

Good book with great up to date info. This was the only book required for our promotional exam that was worth reading.

Very good evidence based literature, even though it’s only a few pages long.

Do not buy this book. It is a simple money grab by Jones & Bartlet. Basically a 16 page pamphlet. Way more free info on the internet. Check out NIST, UL firefighter research, Steve Kirby, Sean Gray, and stopbelievingandstartknowing.

Good informational research but not enough. Should have never put out a book this small, only 16 pages. Not worth the money, just wait for the all the data to be compiled.

This guide is amazing and should be a part of every fire recruit class. Every firefighter should own this book. Contains information about the modern fire environment that may save your life one day.
