It was a good read

Bought for my granddaughter who is at the delicate stage between having learnt to read and establishing a reading habit, I speed read it and concluded that it was not what she would enjoy. No comments on why as I do not want to be accused of “bibliographical sexism”, except that from the first few pages, it read like “a boy’s book”. My grandson loved it, which seemed to prove the point.Horowitz knows his audience.

A gift for my teenage grandson who dislikes reading, in the hope that I can get him hooked on these series of books and maybe help him to fall in love with reading. Here’s hoping 🤞I’ve read the first chapter and I enjoyed it.
